Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed (ignorant). You know that when you were pagans (unbelievers), somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 1 Corinthians 12:1-2

Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Corinthians 12:4-6

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 1

To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:12-13

To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit…1 Corinthians 12:7-8

Word of wisdom—A special word that helps a person navigate through the tough stretches of life.

Word of knowledge—The ability to analyze, and clarify information and ideas for the body of Christ.

…to another faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by that one Spirit… 1 Corinthians 12:9

Faith—The unshakable confidence that God’s will can and will be fulfilled.

Gifts of Healing—An ability to procure cures without natural means.

…to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues… 1 Corinthians 12:10

Miraculous powers—The ability to alter the course of nature through a miraculous act of the Spirit.

Prophecy—A special ability to forth-tell and foretell events to prepare the church.

Distinguishing between spirits—The special ability to discern between truth and error. Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

Speaking in tongues—The special ability to communicate to God and to man in an unlearned language, for personal and corporate edification.

What are the gifts?

So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 1 Corinthians 14:23

The interpretation of tongues—The special ability to interpret the gift of tongues, for the edification of the church.

Administration, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leadership, Mercy, Service, Helps, Hospitality.
