Prior Learning Assessment is the evaluation of learning gained from life experience. Most colleges and universities have a process to measure learning acquired outside the classroom.
Credit by Exam is one of the processes commonly deployed to measure prior learning. Students take an exam and when passing receive the same amount of credit they would earn with a similar course.
The DSST exams, along with CLEP and Advanced Placement exams, are delivered for credit at thousands of higher education institutions in the United States. A college or university may either award credit for a passing exam, deliver the exams on their campus or both.

• Recognized nationally

• Take an average of 90 min. to complete
