Expansion Plans

The company is fast expanding its capacity, to cater to the rising demand and drive

growth. JK Tyre has undertaken expansion of Rs.480 crores to increase the capacity

and is further planning to invest Rs.1200 crores in the next 3-4 years to fulfill the

growth demand for JK Tyre.

The pace of radicalization of truck/bus segment in India is picking up fast. It is

expected to move from nearly 7% to 15% in the next 5 years. To fulfill this rising

demand, JK Tyre is expanding its trucks and bus radial capacity from 3.67 lac to

8.00 lac tyres, i.e. more than double. The company is also setting up capacity to

manufacture specialty tyres for niche markets.

Motor sport

Motorsport in India is synonymous with JK Tyre. Building infrastructure to

organizing events for motorsport, JK Tyre has single handedly catapulted thepopularity of the sport to remarkable heights. Today JK Tyre National Racing

Championship and Karting championships are the two most awaited events by

Indian youth. These events are the only platforms available in the country to nurture

young talents. By winning the national rally championships 8 times team JK Tyre

Directors Report (16 th June2008,2000)

Our Company has achieved an all time high turnover at Rs.3206 crores in year

2008. Operating Profit for the year at Rs.265 crores recorded an increase of 57%

over the previous year, Profit Before Tax for the year was the highest ever at Rs.

101 crores . The Board has recommended an increased dividend of 27% for the

year. It is indeed a matter of satisfaction that the Company has achieved all round

improvements in its operations and profitability and has crossed several milestones

during the year.

During the year 2000 the company has turned out an impressive performance with

an all time high turnover of Rs.13462.6 mn and Operating profit of Rs.1664.5 mn.

After providing for financial charges, depreciation and tax, the net profit for the

year was Rs.327.5 mn. An increase of 48% over the preceding year. The improved

performance could be attained on account of higher year production, better all-

round efficiencies and substantial reduction in financial charges due to better

working capital management ,despite steep increase in the prices of raw materials.

Other cost components including fue oils and freight. In a recent survey published

in one of the leading business dailies industry and the best in tyre industry for

working capital productivity.

JK Tyre Continuing Success Story

JK Tyre has been in the forefront of technological leadership and continues to be

the undisputed leader in the radials in India, being the only manufacturer of the

entire range of radial tyres i.e. for Truck & Buses, Cars, LCVs, Jeeps, MUVs and

Tractors.

This journey started in 1977 with the launch of Passenger Car radial tyres when

these tyres were unheard of in India. It is heartening, that Car radialization over the

years has caught on to reach its current level of 95%. Your Company has made

large investments to increase its capacity over the years, to sustain its commanding

position in this important and growing segment of the Indian tyre market.

We continued this pioneering journey by introducing for the first time in the

country-Truck/Bus Radials in 1999 . Here again, we took the road less travelled and

made large investments by setting up a state of the art facility at Mysore. These

pioneering efforts have started yielding rich dividends in terms of increased demand

for JK Truck / Bus Radials both in the domestic as well as international markets.

It is well established that the use of Radial tyres on truck and buses, not only results

in higher mileage, but also in considerable fuel savings for the vehicles. It has been

estimated that, if the radialization in this sector moves up merely to 25% , from

existing levels of 3.5%, the savings in fuel cost, alone would be more than Rs.

19,000 crores per annum for the nation . It is, therefore, necessary that the usage of

these tyres be encouraged. Your company has laid the foundations for their usage

and has been promoting these tyres by educating the customers as well as

establishing JK Tyre "Truck Radial Tyre Care Centers" along the notional highways

across the country. Apart from offering repair and care facility, the unique part of

the services offered, at these centers, is making available to a trucker a "Service

Ratna Award and announces a Rs. 200 crore expansion plan for the JK Tyre plant in

Banmore, M.P.

New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Babulal Gaur and Mr. Kailash Chawla,

Minister for Commerce and Industry, Employment and Commercial Taxes, M.P, felicitated

distinguished personalities for their contribution to the development of the state, at a function held at

the Nur-us-Sabha Palace in the state capital on Monday, April 25, 2005. Upon receiving the Udyog

Ratna Award, Mr. Raghupati Singhania, who is also the Chairman of the Centenary Celebrations of

PHDCCI, announced a Rs. 200 crore-expansion plan for the JK Tyre plant in Banmore, Madhya

Pradesh spread over the next three years. JK Tyre's Madhya Pradesh Plant located at Banmore, Distt.

Morena started production in 1991 with a capacity of 5.7 lac tyres per annum, producing a range of

tyres and Passenger Radials in particular.

Commenting on the role of PHDCCI, Mr. Raghupati

Singhania, Chairman, Centenary Celebrations, said, "I amhappy to be associated with the Chamber's Centenary

Celebrations. Traversing from the colonial to the post-

independence era of planning and controls to the

liberalization of the economy in the nineties, the Chamber

has achieved the distinguished stature of an apex Chamber with a wide regional focus. The chambers

spectrum of services to the community has also expanded, giving it an ideal blend of regional

development and grass-root operations. With its international linkages, particularly the MoU's with

Chambers of Commerce in various countries have added to the chamber's capabilities in promotion
