Aerodrome Certification Requirementsin Pakistan

Section 4 (a) of CA Ordinance 1960 empowers the Central Government to make rules to implement the Convention of 1944: “The Federal Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make such rules as appear to it to be necessary for carrying out the provisions of the Convention on International Civil Aviation signed in Chicago on the 7th day of December, 1944, and any amendments of the Convention or Annex thereto made in accordance with the provisions of Article 94 of the Convention.”

Power of the Director General:Statutory Notifications (SRO) 1188 (I)/82, Government

of Pakistan, Ministry of Defence.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (7) of the section 5 of the Pakistan CAAO 1982, the Federal Government directed the DG of CAA Pakistan, namely:

(a)The powers exercised by the former DGCA, Government of Pakistan, under the CAR 1978 and the Schedules to the Aircraft Rules 1937; and

(b)The powers of the Federal Government under clause (cv) of sub-rule (1) of Rule 2, Rule 94 and sub-rules (1) to (5) of Rule 95 of the CAR 1978.
