XM2 Stingray is equipped with three, synchronised Arri Alexa Minis to capture ultra-high-resolution VFX plates. Safety and reliability are key considerations which led to integrated layers of redundancy within the �ight controller sensors, the custom power distribution system and the propulsion system. These are tested thorough-ly throughout the commissioning processes of each aircraft.

XM2 Echo is a heavy lift quadcopter that targets 55 pound operations, without sacri�cing �ight time, performance or capability. Utilizing aerospace design principles, Echo maximizes payload capacity through an extremely light frame. In combination this makes the Echo perfect for both the industrial and cinematography markets. XM2 Echo uses a highly e�cient propulsion system and can be equipped with either the DJI A3 or XM2 HELIX �ight controller.

XM2 Aerial utilizes a range of camera control systems including wheels, joysticks or a traditional remote-control transmitter. Wheels remain the industry standard in camera control systems and XM2 have developed the mechanisms to bring this technology into the 21st century.

The key point of di�erence is the integration and customization achievable with these systems, providing camera operators with familiarity and comfort, regardless of the shooting environment. XM2 Aerial engineers and technicians are able to tailor the physical and functional characteristics of each set up to suit the user and shot.

One key advancement is the ability to integrate control systems that were previously not possible. Remote heads that traditionally used joystick control can now be controlled via wheels. When combined with long range systems, like XM2 Lima, they create a completely seamless camera control ecosystem that is equally applicable to drones and helicopters.

XM2 Delta provides a new platform for capturing close proximity, stabilized footage. XM2 Delta is a micro-remote head that can be used in con�ned spaces or as a low pro�le, dynamic camera. Its unique size and modular design allows the creation of amazing footage from previously unseen angles. Complete with a high resolu-tion camera, 3 axis gimbal and wireless video transmission, XM2 Delta can create a completely new viewpoint.

XM2 Charlie is a ground based remote control car, equipped for all kinds of terrain. Its strong electric motor means that it is capable of speeds up to 25 miles per hour while providing stable footage through its vibration isolated mounting. The remote head capabilities can be controlled through a joystick, a traditional remote or wheels, giving the camera operator an environ-ment that they are comfortable and familiar with.

XM2 Stealth allows you to keep up with the action while capturing a tight, close up view of the subject. A powerful electric bike is capable of reaching 40 miles per hour and is equipped with a Flowcine Black Arm and remote head. Stealth provides a complete dampening solution with additional vibration elimination for super smooth footage from the front or rear of the bike. Remote head functionality can be controlled through a joystick, remote control or traditional wheels. The quick release function means that it can go from the E-bike to the drone in under a minute.

Equipped with a quick release mounting system, each gimbal system has the capability to operate as lightweight, handheld systems, complete with monitor and lens control. Most importantly, the mounting systems allow the gimbal to be mounted on a wide variety of aerial and ground based platforms in a manner of minutes.

Visual Effects VFXLIDAR, Photogrammetry and VR

XM2 Aerial has played an integral role as part of VFX units for a number of feature �lms and have developed new systems and equip-ment to capture what was previously impossible. The visions of Direc-tors, DOPs and VFX Supervisors are unique and XM2 Aerial gives them more options to capture the data that they need. A full understanding of VFX Department requirements allows the execution of plate tiles, 180 and 360 bubbles, LIDAR scans and photogrammetry modelling, on-set or on location, as part of production or as an independent unit with aerial and ground based solutions.

LIDAR data capture is able to produce 3D representations of a given target using a pulsed laser to measure distance. With the increase of VFX budgets and the growth of VFX departments, XM2 Aerial have developed systems that speed up the capture of useable data. By developing aerial LIDAR solutions, any location or �lm set can be quickly turned into a 3D model. XM2 Aerial’s LIDAR system can allow large areas with varying heights to be scanned faster than traditional terrestrial methods of LIDAR capture while maintaining survey grade accuracy.

Photogrammetry

XM2 Aerial is able to produce detailed textured models through photogrammetry. Using GPS ground control points, the photogram-metry solution is able to produce extremely accurate models from which detailed location, measurement and volumetric data can be gathered. This is in addition to amazing color, detail and texture as well as streamlined post processing methodology. This solution has been applied on a number of environments from sandy beaches and sheer cli�s to heritage-listed buildings.

Virtual Reality

XM2 Aerial works extensively in virtual reality (VR) applications with proven experience in the most demanding environments, often operating multiple VR cameras simultaneously. Our in-house engineers and technicians are able to develop bespoke solutions in order to operate a wide variety of VR cameras. XM2 Aerial are also able to operate ground based VR platforms on small vehicles, minimizing the footprint in the end product while providing silky smooth video.

Developing customized VFX camera rigs is a unique speciality of the XM2 team. The pilots and engineers have the expertise to develop modi�ed gimbals with the capability to mount multiple cameras in unique arrangements to meet geometric and optical speci�cations. A-STAR Aerial Production Workhorse

Our 2014 Airbus H125 “A-Star” helicopter is one of the newest in the industry and comes pre-wired and production ready for all aerial camera systems. It’s designed to carry out the most demanding missions in the most extreme conditions with an extended range, a fast cruise speed of over 140 MPH and an increased lifting capacity that allows us to carry the largest camera payloads available. It also o�ers two large rear sliding doors which provide �lm crews with easy rigging access on the ground and the ability to leave them open while in �ight.
