Reserve Component Selection Process1. All Dedicated ARNG/USAR GRFD holders awarded

TRICARE 708 WHAT IS TRICARE 708: A medical coverage plan that provides Health care benefits (medical and dental) for newly commissioned 2LTs awaiting accession onto Active duty in any facility of any Armed Service or enrollment in either TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Prime Remote.

FACTS: Currently, Title 10, USC, 1074(a), the 2004 National Defense Authorization Act and Health Affairs Policy 07- 002 provides for medical and dental care to newly commissioned 2LTs .

• Newly commissioned 2LTs have the same priority for care as Active Duty Service Members.

• Newly commissioned 2LTs are not eligible to have any other health care insurance to meet the eligibility requirements of Title 10, USC, 1074(a) for TRICARE 708 coverage.
