I #MissYouMay my Alliegator! She is like a daughter to me and is getting married this summer in Nebraska. I would love to surprise her by being able to be there. With all my daughter's medical bills I can't afford to get there on my own, and it is breaking my heart. Allie is so special to me and my family. I would give anything to see her on the happiest day of her life. Her dad passed away and I know he left a huge hole is her heart. I would just love to be there for her!

Her birthday is soon and I wish I could celebrate with her. It's lonely being so far from family and friends on your special day. She is stationed out of the east coast and will return there after deployment. I live in California and it would be so wonderful to see her and hug her!

There's a lot of bad news in the world, but one has to keep in mind that life can be full of fun and laughter, too! And there's really no one I miss laughing with like my daughter, Kelsey. When I'm faced with all the bad stuff that life throws my way - and life does that to all of us - I look at this photo and smile. I can't help it, and I dare you to try to be grumpy when you look at it, too! We make eachother so unbelievably happy! As you can see, we can't stop laughing long enough to hold the camera still for a photo! The truth is, though, it's so much more fun to be with her in person than to just look at photos, and we can't afford to do that nearly enough. Honestly, we enjoy each other's company so much that if I win, I'll go to San Diego right away! While I'm there, I promise that I'll try and fail once again to get a serious picture of the two of us, because it probably just can't be done! From the moment she picks me up at the airport, without a doubt, we'll be laughing! Then someone will ask like they usually do, "What are you two smiling about?" "Love," we'll answer. In 1976, I started to write to a penpal named Dave West in Marlow England. Yes, children, there is a thing called "pen and paper" that us old folks used years ago. I have been married and divorced, had 3 children (now are all teenagers), moved about 10 times and have had friends come and go in the last 39 years but we are still good friends, even tho he has lived his whole life in England and I in American. We have had many adventures, driving from New Jersey to Texas for my sophomore year of college, trips to England, trips to Florida.. and more than a few days of youth that are a bit foggy. ;) But I have not seen Dave since 1999 because of financial and family reasons. I would love to go to England and reconnect with him. He's an amazing friend and I adore him and I know he adores me too!

I would like to visit my closest friend I have never met - Karrie Fisher Cannell. She and I have been through more than some sisters go through. It was the bond of being 2 moms adopting special needs kids from Eastern Europe at the same time. We raised money together, prayed together, cried together, and now, three years later we still text, talk, and keep saying that someday we will meet. We live on near opposite ends of the country and with 12 kids between us, the funds for a trip just never seem to happen. I would love to meet the best friend I've never met. Here's a pic of Karrie when she brought home 2 from Ukraine and me with my one from Russia. I don't know that I "deserve" to win, I don't think my story is more or less important or emotional or deserving than any others. I do know that I was and am changed more by this journey that she and I have been on than ever before in my life. Adoption does so much, you go through so much - it would be amazing to hug my friend for first time, I'm sure we'll burst out in tears and then it will be like old home week! #MissYouMay
