Tip: dry assemble all components before glueing to confirm how pieces assemble.

Lift existing exterior wall slightly and glue and fit 3 angle topped wallsin order of drawing above and photo. Refit walls so all fit into floor tabs, fit exterior walls, glueing only on walls. Use sanding board to sand topsof exterior walls to match angle of roof. See next photo. Do not glue to floors. At this point seal walls with thin shellac or your favourite sealer.

    Kitchen/Bathroom

    Pieces needed all weatherboard

    2mm x 2mmsticks x10

Start glueing weatherboard/clapboard panels to exterior faces, line up with top and ends of walls and windows. Panels will sit on decking wherepresent but cover down 3mm otherwise. Test fit first to make sure you are happy with fit before glueing, again glue to walls but not to flooring. 2mm square sticks will fit into all interior and exterior corners to finishoff weather boarding. Take your time because all boards will line uparound the house and a good lineup will show and a bad will show even more. Leave to dry until well dried.

When dry use side cutters to snip off overhanging sticks then using a flat sanding board carefully sand a chamfer to top of all weatherboards.

dry fit roof framing, glue to each other but not to ceiling.

Fit front and rear roof pieces using tabs in frames for alignment, glue to each other and to frames. Glue and fit side roof panels one ata time to front/rear pieces, use tabs to align and tape to hold whiledrying. Check fit on top of walls.

I promise all this not glueing has a purpose.

When dry use sanding board to sand outside faces vertical. This is nowyour Barge board and makes a noticeable difference to the finished model

Tip: Use a thin wash of Shellac to seal all Mdf from moisture.

Tape across the 2 awning pieces, glue gap and use triangle as guide to angle. Do not glue to guide.

Glue awning into roof, use top edges of join for lineup. See photo.

When all is dry you can now dissasemble all the sub assemblies to decorate.

Photos below of completed prototype that can stillbe disassembled. Floor boards were stained with 2different colours, decks where then distressed withgrey wash and steel wool. Interior floors where sealedwith semi-gloss clear for a sheen, walls where paperedwith my own wallpaper prints. Assembly of doors and windows coming up.

Separate paper strips cut to approx 20mm longer than each ridge. Put down on work space and using a straight edge align down centre ofeach strip and using blunt tool crease down centre line of paper, take paper and gently fold along crease, place glue along inside andglue to ridges, 4 long ones first, followed by top ridge cap cut to correctlength, then lastly awning ridge. When dry trim ends to corrugated cardwith scissors. Fit awning barge board. Paint roofing, turn over and paint barge boards, underside around edge and verandahs white

Made by W Barnard, 95 Ellison Road Springwood, NSW 2777, Australia E-Mail: Web: [email protected]

Sand top of roof structure with sanding board to correct any misalignments in roof joins. Glue corrugated board to matching roof structure, corrugated board will overhang barge board by 2 - 3mm.

Now that your shell is painted or wallpapered you can fit all thedoor and window frames that you have pre painted. Use RC card ones for inside and plywood one for outside. For inside remove backing paper and stick in place, for outside glue in place. When dry paint cutout in wall between frames to match. When paint dry fit door or window centred in wall with small amount of glue
