What is a Communications Satellite?

Satellites are “Parked” 35,680 kilometres above the earth in a “geo-synchronous” orbit.

Satellites appear stationary when viewed from the earth’s surface.

A single satellite provides up to 42% earth surface coverage

Most satellite beams or “footprints” are pointed at areas with high population density
