PREVIOUS AND ONGOING CORE BUSINESS: GRANDI SCUOLE AND CEPU
IN ITALY MANY PEOPLE LEAVE HIGH-SCHOOL WITHOUT OBTAINING A DIPLOMA. GRANDI SCUOLE HELPS THEM TO RECOVER LOST YEARS AND GIVES THEM SUPPORT WHILE ATTENDING LESSONS (78% OF OUR STUDENTS ARE OVER 18 YEARS).

INSTRUMENTS AND METHODSLecturesLectures are a major part of the teaching strategy for CEPU. Lectures are an effective way of delivering core material and establishing a framework for a module against which other material can be set.
TutorialsTutorials are meetings of a student or group of students (CEPU or Grandi Scuole) with a lecturer or lecturers and are used toexpand upon material covered in lectures through an enquiry-driven problem solving approach in order to overcome any deficiencies in a student’s background knowledge.
SeminarsSeminars involve a student or students presenting previously prepared work. This strategy is used to extend specific theoretical or practical concepts as well as introducing problem solving exercises. Seminars are used in most modules and provide students with valuable experience in presentational skills as well as providing staff with a method or assessing student-centred learning.

INSTRUMENTS AND METHODS
Practical WorkshopsPractical workshops are used extensively in modules such as Information Technology and Finance and Accounting. In this method students are able to practice and refine their skills in a supportive environment where they can get feedback from a member of academic staff. Practical workshops represent a valuable transition between theory and the workplace.
Case StudiesCase studies are a teaching and learning strategy, which are employed in a range of modules; they also are a useful assessment tool. Students are asked to develop real or simulated complex problems which they are required to analyse in detail and then synthetise/present their own solution in writing or orally.

Learning StrategiesStudents are expected to take greater responsibility for their own learning as they progress through their programes. The course structure and the proposed teaching strategies are designed to encourage this development. The student-centred approach will be encouraged through the use of specific teaching strategies; case studies; projects; practical exercises, supplemented by the use of appropriate support materials; videos; computer software; etc. Active engagement with the subject material enhances learning and many of the learning strategies used attempt to promote this.

The Group has converted the former IBM training Center for Europe in Novedrate, between Milan and Como, into the University Campus for E-CAMPUS University and into an International Education Center.In Novedrate students sit their exams, in person, at various times during the process of distance learning.
Students are supported during the yearat over 120 CEPU branches situated all over Italy.The assistance is on an individual bases.Communication is based on the formula:E-CAMPUS + CEPU.
