TGO Science Instruments.

ACS – Atmospheric Chemistry Suite. The three spectrometers cover respectively the bands 0.7–1.7 µm, 2.3–4.6 µm., and 1.7–17.0 µm. ACS will study trace gases, profile isotope ratios, and contribute to atmospheric escape studies.

Status: ACS-STM delivered to TAS-F. Flight hardware is scheduled for delivery at the end of March 2015.

FREND - Fine Resolution Epithermal Neutron DetectorNeutron detector with a collimation module to significantly narrow the instrument’s field of view, thus allowing the creation of higher resolution maps of hydrogen distribution.

Status: FREND-QM delivered to TAS-F. Flight hardware is scheduled for delivery at the end of February 2015.

MISSION & SYSTEM Joint DM Design Review

2018 DM DR Board Close-out took place on 13 October 2014

Several issues remained open however it was agreed to forward the open RIDs and issues to the S-PDR panels for disposition

System PDR S-PDR Board session was held on November 6, 2014, with equal co-chairing of the

European and the Russian participants

After the session the conclusion was made that S-PDR objectives has not been fully achieved

Final session of S-PDR Board is planned on May 5, 2015.

Progress on the 2018 Mission

DESCENT MODULE The DM baseline configuration is updated based on the DM DR outcome

DM de-scoping re-distribution of functions of the Russian OBC-2 between the other Russian Units and

European OBC-1

decrease of mass of the European RM decrease of mass of the Russian scientific equipment on Landing Platform

Increase of clearance of landing platform Optimization of power supply/ power consumption system

It is necessary to finalize PAS baseline configuration (number of stages, number of fixation points, loads at deployment etc.)

CARRIER MODULE A Carrier Module Design Review (Industry Level Review) completed

It is necessary to solve the issues on Power Supply System, thruster impact on DM, avoidance of collision with DM after separation
