International Day of Prayer

for the Maltese Islands

Rejoice with us that the Lord is doing a mighty work in this tiny island nation and YOUR PRAYERS are

making a difference!

Malta is located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, just below Italy.

There are more new believers now than ever before and there is a growing sense of unity amongst the born again believers on the islands.

Maltese Believers and the Harvest

John 4:35

I tell you, Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

(All Scriptures taken from NIV)

On August 15th all over Malta and in seven villages in particular Maltese will be celebrating the Roman Catholic holiday honoring their belief in the assumption of Mary’s body into heaven.

At this same time however (August 7th-15th), a group of volunteers from Tennessee, USA and local born again believers will be prayerwalking and praising God in ALL of the 68 Local Council areas.

Pray that Maltese will give God the glory due His name, and His name alone.

Glory to God in the Highest!

Isaiah 66:18

And I…am about to come and gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see my glory.

This year believers from different churches have met at least once a month to pray together for Malta.

A 24-7 Prayer Room was opened for two weeks by a Canadian group and has remained open at least weekly since then.

Petition that believers worldwide will keep interceding on Malta’s behalf as we know we are promised an answer.

1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of Him.

The Evangelical Alliance of Malta

The Evangelical Alliance of Malta (TEAM) began in April 2008 and involves most of the Evangelical Churches.

The second Evangelical Conference took place the next day and there were 165 believers there!

John 13:35

Rejoice that there is a growing unity and pray against any separation or unforgiveness that remains. May others know we are Christians by our love!

“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

Prayer for Maltese Believers

Many new Christians face pressure from their family and friends as they distance themselves from their cultural religion.

Pray that they will hunger and thirst for the Lord and desire so much to be like Him that they will stand strong.

Ask for their eyes and ears to be clear and open to discern truth from lies as they stay in God’s Word.

Petition that they will share freely with those around them and give testimony of their beliefs by their changed lives and baptism.

Finally lift them up as they become witnesses in Malta, North Africa, Europe, and the world!

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

More churches

Petition for new believers from every Local Council area of Malta and ask for new churches to be started in these areas.

Maturity

Pray that instead of feeling threatened or hurt by these church starts that existing churches will support these new efforts in prayer and embrace their new brothers and sisters in Christ.

Ask for Maltese believers to answer the call as leaders and that all Christians will mature in their faith.

John 15:8

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Ministries to Malta

Finally lift up an effort by Ministries to Malta, a nonprofit Christian organization, to be more involved in community outreach and projects that invest in social needs in order to be like Jesus.

Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Psalm 66:1-2

Ultimately we anticipate the day when Maltese believers are gathered around the throne from every village and city praising the Lord!

Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious!

Thank you for investing in Malta!
