is to us. His grace did not stop after He saved us from the penalty of sin. He keeps on providing our needs though we fail Him many times. His love is still evident in spite of our shortcomings. With those blessings from God and much more, there can be no better way to show our appreciation than by giving Him a loyal and faithful service.

While Satan wants to steal our loyalty to God by tempting us to live like the world, we must dis-cern that the Lord has done much more for us. It will be tragic when we give the world much labour to the detriment of our spiritual welfare. Meanwhile, we are encouraged to hear and are inspired to learn about many men and women in the past who worked in God’s vineyard faithfully because they realized God’s goodness in them. May we always remain faithful and loyal to God for He has done so much for us.

Praise the Lord for this blessed Sunday.

Church Bulletin

We are the young people, particularly con-sidered as adolescents or teen-agers, who comprise the High School Depart-

ment of the Christian Bible Baptist Church. We are so blessed to be a part of this great church with a great heart for every individual in need of Jesus Christ. We praise and thank God for in-cluding us in this loving church wherein we are taught and trained to live according to His Word. Also called as “highschoolers,” we now have an average attendance of 330-350 every Sunday in our six Sunday School divided classes. Our class of first and second year or the Junior High School Boys headed by Sir Justin Sales has 80-90 students. Our First year High School Girls’ class under Ma’am Cristina Alvior has 35-40 stu-dents, like that of the Second Year class of Ma’am Jana Ramos. Sir Duke Lumictin leads our third and fourth year or Senior High School Boys class with 50-60 students. On the other hand, our Third year girls’ class with 40-50 students is handled by Ma’am Lanie Tarcelo, and the Fourth year girls’ class under Ma’am Jocelyn Tolentino has 40-50 students. Meanwhile, about 150 of us return in the afternoon and join our divided class fellowships. We have more than 30 highschoolers involved in the different ministries of our church, specifically 9 in the choir, 8 in the Sunday school,

and 14 in the orchestra and rondalla. We also have a Campus Ministry that encourages us to win souls in our schools amidst our busy schedule in our studies and other chores. Many church work-ers visit our schools, whether public or private, to teach the Word of God. Some teach from one room to another; others have a regular Bible study within the campus vicinity; and some do it in a nearby place especially when the school authori-ties do not allow teaching inside the campus. We are excited this school year for our upcoming activities in the church like sports nights, talents nights, group fellowships, and class fellowships that will be held every Sunday night in our divided Sunday School fellowships. We also promote our project which we term “cash or trash” as a fund raising program so that we all can get involved during our activities and not let our finan-cial incapacity to be a hindrance in our involve-ment. Furthermore, we are glad to learn that there are many faithful frontliners now in our Church who started to serve the Lord during their high school days. Indeed, our age is not really a problem for us to get involved. We then can say that everything that we are and will be is by the grace of God in our lives through the church wherein He has placed us. To God be the glory!

Thee.My earthly work whatever it may be.

When the wisest man who ever lived penned these words in Proverbs 23:10, “Labour not to be rich; cease from thine own wisdom,” he

meant for us to take heed of the purpose of and rea-son for labouring. Far too often, our labour is directed towards selfish pursuits. Since time immemorial, man has been immersed in and proud of the fruits of his la-bour. Even before the fall, the Lord had designed the human race to work. However, for countless times, man has been known to succumb naturally to labour-ing for fame, fortune, and foolishness. The outcome or product of that which we labour for determine the authenticity of its worthiness.

The Bible says in Proverbs 10:16 that “The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.” There is something basically unfair about a Christian who is more zealous of doing secu-lar work than in working for God's vineyard. There is a difference between a job and a vocation. We do our jobs for a living, but we do our vocation for a life....a life lived for God, and a life-giving conduit for others. We must view labouring in its Biblical framework.

GK Chesterton once said, “Christianity has not been tried and found lacking; it has been tried and found difficult.” Christianity is one laborious life. It is wrestling with the moral fiber of our depraved being. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood...” Real-izing this is necessary for people to be happy, to live well-adjusted lives and for them to find meaning and purpose in living.

The Christian in the midst of a secular and pagan world is like a soldier, surrounded by those who would convince him that he is out of step with his peers and age. It is easy to be influenced by the attitude of well-meaning but carnal friends who will influence us to devote our strength and energy to works that will not bring God glory and will not infuse other lives with God's love. As God's people, may our prayers be a reflection of what is fervently expressed by an anony-mous Christian poet in the following lines:

Loyalty that will do anything, that will endure anything,

that will make the whole be-ing consecrate to Him, is what Christ wants. Anything else is

not worthy of Him. --Burdett Hart

Compromise with a Bear

John Kenneth Galbraith was a noted economist in the early 1900s who was called upon by many dignitaries to help sort the economic markets. He wrote the following story in his auto-

biography about his housekeeper:

“It had been a wearying day, and I asked Emily to hold all telephone calls while I had a nap. Shortly thereafter the phone rang. Lyndon Johnson was calling from the White House. ‘Get me Ken Galbraith. This is Lyndon Johnson.’ ‘He is sleeping, Mr. Presi-dent. He said not to disturb him.’ ‘Well, wake him up. I want to talk to him.’ ‘No, Mr. President. I work for him, not you.’ When I called the President back, he could scarcely control his pleasure. ‘Tell that woman I want her here in the White House.’” Emily the housekeeper understood an important truth—she was a servant to one man and obeyed his wishes explicitly. Her loyalties were to Mr. Galbraith alone. What a great example of a true servant.

Remember Who You Work For

A hunter raised his rifle and took careful aim at a large bear. When he was about to pull the trigger, the bear spoke in a soft soothing voice, “Isn’t it

better to talk than to shoot? What do you want? Let’s negotiate the matter.” Lowering his rifle, the hunter replied, “I want a fur coat.” “Good,” said the bear, “that is a negotiable question. I only want a full stomach, so let us negotiate a compro-mise.” They sat down to negotiate and after a time the bear walked away alone. The negotiations had been successful. The bear had a full stomach, and the hunter had his fur coat! Satan says to you, “Let us negotiate.” But there are some things that cannot be negotiable. We cannot compromise the church with the world. Christ and His church deserve our very best and utmost loyalty.

Maaari Mong Matiyak ang Langit

Ang sabi ni Hesus, “Ako ang daan, ang katotohanan, at ang buhay: walang makapupunta sa Ama kundi sa pamamagitan ko.” Juan 14:6

Wala nang iba pang makapagliligtas sa iyo mula sa impiyerno. Magtiwala ka kay Hesus ngayon! Roma 6:23 “Kung ipahahayag ng iyong bibig na si Hesus ay Panginoon at mananampalataya ka nang buong puso na Siya’y muling binuhay ng Diyos, ikaw ay maliligtas”. Roma 10:9

1. Aminin mo na ikaw ay isang makasalanan. Roma 3:102. Magsisi ka sa iyong kasalanan. Gawa 17:303. Manampalataya ka na si Kristo Hesus ay namatay para sa iyo, nalibing at nabuhay namagmuli.
