RF Mike Baxter  (3x4, R, 2 2B, RBI, BB) and DH Dario Pizzano (3x4, 2 R, 3B, HR, 2 RBI) each recorded a team-high 3 hits, while 1B Efren Navarro (2x5, 2 R, 2 2B) and CF Boog Powell  (2x4, R, 3B, RBI) each collected 2 of the Rainiers 13 hits. Pizzano hit his first home run of the season with a solo blast with 2 outs in the 8th inning, while 2B Chris Taylor  (1x5, R, HR, RBI) hit his 3rd homer of the season with a solo shot with 1 out in the 9th inning. SS Benji Gonzlaez (2x4, 3B, BB), C MarLittlewood  (2x4, 2B) and 3B Brock Hebert  (2x4, RBI) each collected 2 of the Generals 9 hits. SOUTHERN LEAUGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH: OF Tyler O’Neill was named by Minor League Baseball as the Southern League’s Plaof the Month for May. He is Jackson’s first player of the month since Nick Franklin in 2012. O’Neill hit safely in 24 of 28 games with 9 multcontests during May, batting .349 (38x109) with 17 runs scored, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 25 RBI, 1 HBP, 11 walks and 3 stobases. During May, O’Neill led the Southern League in hits (38), extra-base hits (18), RBI (25) and total bases (65), while also ranking T1s2B (13), 3rd in average (.349), 5th in OPS (1.003) and slugging percentage (.596) and 10th in on-base percentage (.407). He recorded a n 17 of 28 games, including recording at least 1 RBI in the final 8 games of the month (13 RBI).

SOUTHERN LEAGUE WEEKLY HONORS: OF Tyler O’Neill was named Player of the Week and LHP Ryan Yarbrough was named Pitof the Week by the Southern League, May 23-29. Jackson has received 3 weekly awards this season, and the team swept both for the time since 2013. O’Neill continued his stellar start to 2016 with RBI in all 7 of Jackson’s games last week. He hit .333 (8x24) with 4 r

scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 11 RBI and 6 walks in contests against Chattanooga and Montgomery. The highlight of his week w3-for-4 performance with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI at Riverwalk Stadium in 10-1 win on Friday. This is the 2nd career weekly Player of Week award for O’Neill, who took home Midwest League honors with Clinton in 2014. Yarbrough  recorded win in both his starts duringweek on May 23 vs. Chattanooga (7.0,3,0,0,0,7) and May 29 at Montgomery (6.0,6,2,1,2,6), combining allowing only 1 earned run (2 R), 9 2 walks and struck out 13 over 13.0 innings (0.69 ERA).
