Single Shot Mode
Single Shot Mode is used to
provide an appropriate protection
curve when non-reclosingoperation is required.
For example:
When Auto Reclose is OFF
When closing onto a fault.

Single Shot Operation
In Single Shot Mode the controllergoes directly to lockout after one
trip and will not Auto-Reclose.
Single Shot Mode is activatedwhen:
-Auto-Reclose is turned off andWork Tag is not applied.
-The circuit breaker is closed byoperator command irrespective ofthe state of Auto-Reclose.
Single Shot is de-activated when:
-Auto-Reclose is turned back on.
-Work Tag is not active, and theSingle Shot Timer expires without a
protection pickup occurring.

Single Shot Timer
This may be disabled by setting
the Single Shot reset time to zero.
When set to zero, auto-reclosing
will always be enabled while Auto
Reclose is ON.
The Single Shot timer starts when
the switchgear is manually closed
and runs for the preset number ofseconds.

Single Shot - Summary
An ACR will always go directly to
Lockout following a protection trip
if it is in Single Shot mode.
Providing the Work Tag has not
been applied, an ACR will be in
Single Shot mode if:
Auto Reclose is OFF
An operator has closed onto afault. Providing:
-The Single Shot Timer has not
been set to zero.
The timing of a trip that occurswhen the ACR is in Single Shot
mode is determined by dedicated
Single Shot settings for the
particular type of fault.

Work Tag
Applying the Work Tag ensuresthat closing cannot take place at
all, either by a local operator, aremote operator or automatically.
The switchgear cannot closewhile the Work Tag is applied but
Work Tag can be applied whenthe switchgear is closed providingnothing is inhibiting tripping.
If a protection trip occurs while theWork Tag is applied, theswitchgear will always go tolockout even if Auto Reclose isON.
The protection pickup and time to
trip will be determined by theWork Tag protection settings andWork Tag Trip will be recorded in
the Event Log.

Work Tag and Controller Mode
The controller is always in either
Local or Remote mode.
Only a local operator can
apply/remove the Work Tag when
the controller is in Local Mode.
Only a remote operator can
apply/remove the Work Tag when
the controller is in Remote Mode.
This means that for a local
operator to remove the Work Tag
which was applied by a remote
operator, they must first put the

Single Shot and Work Tag Modes
Single Shot and Work Tag modeswill both cause an ACR to go
directly to Lockout if a protectiontrip occurs.
i.e.
-They both prevent automatic
reclosing.
Work Tag mode prevents manualclosing as well.
Single Shot and Work Tag tripsoccur according to their own
respective settings.
i.e.
-In Single Shot mode the ACRwill trip according to the Single
Shot settings.
-In Work Tag mode the ACR willtrip according to the Work Tagsettings.
An ACR will always be in WorkTag mode if the Work Tag isapplied regardless of the SingleShot status.
