Milwaukee’s biggest event for the LGBT community is PrideFest and it's running this year from Friday, June 10th through Sunday, June 12th.

At this years Milwaukee PrideFest they're bringing one of the most iconic music bands of the 70's to the entertainment line-up, none other than Blondie! They'll play the main-stage on Sunday, June 12th at 8pm. Blondie's been performing concerts around the world in support of their recently released Blondie 4(0) Ever album. The album contains revisited greatest hits and rock-disco hybrid versions of “Heart of Glass,” the equally influential hip hop fantasia, “Rapture,” and the lilting calypso, “The Tide Is High.” Interesting thing is, you can buy tickets right on Blondie's website at "www.blondie.net" from Tickemaster. We suppose it's for those gold hearted fans that want to see Debbie Harry and the band up close.

Another artist set to perform is Sarah Silverman who's a stand-up comedian and actress. Her comedy addresses social taboos and controversial topics, such as racism, sexism and religion, having her comic character endorse them in an ironic fashion. That means she'll be off the hook so hold the children ears!

Legendary club music singer and songwriter, best known for her 1990's dance hits "Gypsy Woman" and "100% Pure Love," Crystal

Waters is also on the bill along with Canadian R&B singer-songwriter and actress Deborah Cox. Her 1998 song "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" held the record for longest-running number one single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. Both artists are scheduled to perform on Saturday, June 11th at PrideFest.

A visit to the Milwaukee festival is not complete without a venture over to the Dance Pavilion, where the weekend-long dance party is a destination in itself. PrideFest always books in the hottest DJs and this year's no exception with DJ Hector Fonseca pumping up sounds for the dance floor on Sunday, June 12th.

Price of admission for a single-day entry is $17 at the gate, and $39 for a three day pass that's available at the gate if you plan to be there more than just a day.

With all the talk about PrideFest, don't forget the Milwaukee Pride Parade is on Sunday, June 12th, last day of PrideFest which takes place on South Second Street. The parade begins at the "staging area" on 2nd street between Lapham and Greenfield at 2pm. It will travel north on 2nd street to the float "breakdown area" near 2nd & Oregon. Some of the floats include Club Icon, MKE Leather & Fetish Pride Show and even the Milwaukee Fire Department, of course there's a lot more floats to see!

If you're in the area, mosey over to the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, they're celebrating their 25 annniversary. Oh wait... "The day was March 7, 1991. It was a cold, late-winter Thursday in Milwaukee when a new era in entertainment was born in the city’s long-neglected Menomonee Valley. On that day, Potawatomi Bingo opened its doors to the public for the first time," as the story goes.

From March 1-June 30, the casino will feature Reel Random jackpots on its gaming floor. Slot machine players will have the chance to randomly win a variety of cash and slot credit prizes regardless of the reel combination or the amount wagered. Prizes range from $25 to $25,000. Thankfully, the winners don't need to be Fire Keeper’s Club members.

Alright, now back to Chicago where we'll find Andersonville’s annual big summer street festival Midsommarfest in full swing on the weekend of June 10th-12th. Each year, close to 50,000 people converge to the area on

Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa for two days of music, dancing, kids’ entertainment, and savory street food. Vendors from around the region sell their wares to passers-by and anyone with a few dollars in their pocket, while ethnic dance troupes and cutting-edge bands keep the street party hopping.

Born out of Andersonville’s Swedish heritage, Midsommarfest transports you back to the old-world Swedish traditions. Dance around the Maypole, test flavorful international food and you can experience it all without the use of a passport.

Shop local and get a free drink at Midsommarfest! It may come as a surprise, but the street closures and crowds of Midsommarfest weekend can sometimes have a negative effect on sales for the local retailers and service businesses. With this in mind, they're once again offering a special incentive to patronize those businesses during Midsommarfest.
