Could we, somehow, with the help of the Spirit, sustain the Presence of our risen Savior in all the moments of all the days we have yet to live, to work, to play, to struggle, to grow, to love, to worship and to enter into the House of the Lord? Is it possible? Of course! The good news in Jesus Christ is we are not alone: we have not only each other - the burning coals of a faithful community - but the Holy Spirit in our midst to re- mind, encourage, instruct, strengthen and sustain us. That is way past cool. Let’s pause momentari- ly from this writing riff to linger on the word ‘encourage.’ It literally means ‘put the heart back into.’ Ever lose heart? Ever lose momentum? Ever feel overwhelmed by defeat, despair or discouragement? God’s promise in Jesus Christ is to ‘put the heart back into us!’ And guess what? The Holy Spirit uses us to help ‘put the heart’ back into each other as well-- we are called to build each other up in the faith, to encourage one another, to love and give, pray and forgive without ceasing. That’s how we as the Body of Christ are supposed to ‘be’ in the world. When we live this way, when we actually let the Spirit of the Living God pour through our hearts and lives into the world we’re on fire! Don’t worry, it’s a really good kind of fire, sort of like burning pasture but in the realm of the spirit: refining, restoring, renewing, purifying, and glorifying all wrapped into one. OK. Let go.....go ahead! Let go and let God have your heart and soul and strength and mind and life and treasures and troubles and see what God can do with, in and through you. Stand back and behold the glory of the Lord in your life! Yes. Yes. Hallelujah! And yes again. Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed! This supports numerous poor families to not only have food to eat, but through breeding the animals, they can share and sell their eggs/animals in order to become self-sufficient. Thank you for encouraging generous hearts in your children.

Camp Chippewa There are still opportunities to attend camp, if you have not yet registered online. The church will pay the full cost (-$20 Early Bird penalty). Go to www.campchippewa.org for camp choices. A $50 deposit to FUMC which is FULLY refunded to you upon camp attendance reserves your scholarship. Please contact Shari Wendt at [email protected] or 432-1342.

Children have the certainty in class to know Jesus Christ as their friend and savior. Beginning June 15, we will have a combined class at 10:10 a.m. on Sundays in room 203 a.k.a. “Yellow Room.”

Please know if you should ever need me for ANYTHING just ask Pastor Paul or Ronda and they will pass the message on to me. Know that I am well, but still struggle. Keep me in your prayers please.

Gracious God, I pray for each member of this church today. That You will place Your healing hands upon them and Your loving arms around each of them. Guide them in their mission for You and bless them abundant-ly. I lift them up during this transitional time and also pray that You multiply their leadership and renew the strength of those in leadership today. I pray all this and much more in Your precious name. Amen.

God Bless, Dorothy Ellsworth

Mother Knows BestMother Knows BestMother Knows BestMother Knows Best John invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how John and his roommate Julie looked at each other. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two and this only made her more curious. By the end of the evening she was convinced there was more between them than met the eye. Reading his mom's t h o u g h t s , J o h n volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you Julie and I are just roommates." About a week later, Julie went to John saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" John said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her just to be sure." So he sat down and wrote: "Dear Mother, I'm not saying that you 'did' take the gravy ladle from my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the gravy ladle but the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you were here for dinner. Love, John." The next day, John received a response from his mother that read: "Dear Son, I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Julie, and I'm not saying that you 'do not' sleep with Julie. But the fact remains that if she were sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now. Love, Mom."
