Why not fast from criticism, gossip, judging others, or passing on rumors? Why not abstain from unwarranted fear and anxiety? You can also tell that inner voice inside your head that criticizes you to abstain from eroding your ability to be the confident, blessed person God calls you to be. Give of Yourself Give of Yourself Give of Yourself Give of Yourself Daily life also offers countless opportunities to give of yourself to others (alms), and most don’t involve dipping into your wallet. Give encourage- ment to the doubting, give a word of praise to the insecure, show kindness to someone who could use a friend, and offer a word of thanks to those whose service of others often goes unappreciated. Give the gift of your attention to someone who simply wants to be noticed. Tell your children stories about people whose values you admire when you gather at mealtime. Don’t be stingy with your smiles—give them freely to everyone you meet. And most important, give your love to those close to you. Hug them, hold them, and tell them what they mean to you. In this way you open your heart to God and others. (Loyola Press, Finding Time) So no matter how busy you are in life, with some greater awareness and new perspectives you can consciously pray, fast, and give of yourself this Lent—and you will be ready to celebrate when a joyful dawn breaks upon you Easter morning. The fast pace of your life may seem to leave little time and energy for the traditional Lenten practic-es. Any Way You Can!

WHEN: April 1st—3rd, 2016 WHO: Jr. & Sr. High Youth

This trip will include a concert on Friday, services and devotional times on Satur-day and Sunday. Youth will be allowed ample free time for rides and games. Total costs will be $35.00 for each youth member, $20.00 for the activities and $15.00 for lodging. A portion of this expense will need to be provided by those attending. Youth will be responsible for food and snacks. Two evening dinners will be provided. This will be a lasting memory for our youth, bringing them closer to God and to one another in friendship, having fun while learning about God. Please call Demian Wegehaupt @ 620-212-6755 with any questions you might have.

CAMP CHIPPEWACAMP CHIPPEWACAMP CHIPPEWACAMP CHIPPEWA: “…A place where faith & fun come together” There’s a camp for everyone in grades K-12. Online registration available at www.campchippewa.org for discounted prices. Early bird registration needs to be completed by April 15, 2016. The church has offered a grant in order to make it possible for all FUMC members to attend. However, the church will pay only the Early Bird price, and participants are responsible for the remainder of the cost. Also, each participant is required to pay $50 refundable deposit to our church. If the participant attends camp, the $50 is refunded. If they fail to attend camp, the money is not refunded. This is to discourage last-minute cancellations because the church will not be refunded the cost of the participant’s tuition. Tuition costs varies between camps. The church grant offers a wonderful opportunity for kids to experi-ence camp and grow in their knowledge of Christ. If you have any questions, please contact Demian Wegehaupt @ 212-6755 or e-mail him at [email protected].

Greeting to everyone,Greeting to everyone,Greeting to everyone,Greeting to everyone, Its almost time to be thinking.. SUMMER CAMP.. Camp Chippewa info will be coming out soon. A reminder to all parents and volunteers, VBS is just around the corner, If you have helped out in the years past I would love to have you help out again. If you haven't helped but would like to, please call me and I’ll get you all the info you will need. I would like to thank everyone who is joining me and the youth as sponsors. Your help is going to be wonderful and I hope you will get as much out of this trip as the kids will. As usual, I’ll try and keep you all informed and in my prayers. Crucifixion

They placed the cross

upon His back Yet, no one seemed

to care The weight across His

shoulders Seemed more than He

could bear.

The spikes were driven in His hands

And pounded through His feet

The ones who had convicted Him

Were cheering in the street.

The crown of thorns placed on His head Brought blood upon

His brow The day of prophecy

had come He had to face it now.

The sins of man were

laid to rest He bore a heavy loss The agony He must

have felt As He hung there

on the cross.

The innocent blood of Jesus Christ

Was shed for all to see The Son of God was crucified And died for you and me.
