Many of you know that the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando was the site

of the composition of our Call to Prayer today, Spirit of the Living God. Thissimple song has been translated into more than 100 languages. This is part

of Daniel Iversons account of its composition the speaker in the meeting[off site] was a medical doctor named Barron. As he listened, Iverson heard

him say several times, Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on us. The pastor

[of FPCO], Rev. Belk, had to go to his office here at the church and asked if

Iverson would like to join him. He did. Here in our church, Rev. Iverson sat

down at a piano with the words still ringing in his ears. In about ten minutes

the song was complete. He didnt know how to write the notes, so he found

someone one who did. It was sung at the evening meeting that night for

about 4,000 people. An invitation to receive Christ was given and about400 people responded in faith. The version we are singing this morning is

the actual tune he wrote. - Dr. Dan Sharp

*Welcome & Passing of the PeaceSt. Paul always greeted with the words, The peace of God be with you. This

is an appropriate way to greet fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and so we

say, The peace of the Lord be with you and respond, And also with you. We

then pass this greeting of peace to one another. At the passing of the peace weshould earnestly desire Gods peace upon each person we greet.
