The convent was built in 1703 over the old chapel Nuestra Señora de los Remedios. An old religious order called “Las Clarisas" resides in this convent. Usually nuns pray, meditate and prepare handmade sweets, whose recipes are a culinary secret of this religious order.

Torre Águila was made in the first century B.C .
The villa was built around a central courtyard (peristyle) with stately dependencies, baths, rooms, etc, and a second area for farming use, with tanks, warehouses, etc ...
In another stage a new peristyle was built with majestic rooms. There was a wine storehouse added as well.
The last stage was on the Visigoth period , with buildings related to Christian worship: Baptistry, Church, Cemetery, etc ...

The collective life of Montijo is carried out around this square from 1900. Initially it had some palm trees and a kiosk for musical performances in the middle. In 1905 El Paseo was built and in 1920 it was cemented. Now Spain Square is a lively place for younger and older people for meeting, chatting, and so on.
