CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. Entry is open to all Australian professional practising artists working in textile media. 2. Entries must be received by 5pm, Friday 10 March 2017 3. Artists may submit a maximum of 2 existing works. All works submitted must be available for the exhibition and must have been executed since 1 July 2015. Maximum size is 200cm (W) x 200cm (D) x 280cm (H) - including the full width of multi- panel works and framing. 4. For artworks requiring difficult or unusual installation methods, the artist is advised to discuss requirements with Gallery staff prior to entering the Award. 5. Artists should submit 2 images for each work - one image of the whole work and one detail. Images must be in high resolution JPEG format at 300dpi. 6. Images, artist’s statement, CV and completed entry form should be emailed to exhibitionsoffi[email protected]. Alternatively they can be placed on USB or CD ROM and mailed to Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award, Wangaratta Art Gallery, PO Box 238, Wangaratta 3676. JPEG files must include the following details as the file name: surname- firstname-title of work.jpg. 7. An entry fee of $40 inc GST per artwork (max 2 entries, $80) will be used to support registration. The entry fee is payable by cash (in person only), credit card, money order or cheque made payable to the Wangaratta Art Gallery. 8. Selected works will be included in an exhibition at the Wangaratta Art Gallery 3 June - 6 August 2017. 9. The Director of the Wangaratta Art Gallery as the administrator of the Award reserves the right to reject an entry if it is considered not to meet the criteria for entry. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into. 10. Selected works must be delivered to the Wangaratta Art Gallery between 22 - 26 May 2017 from 9am - 5pm. 11. Works must be collected between 7 - 11 August 2017 from 9am - 5pm. Works not collected will be disposed of at the discretion of the Director 30 days after notice in writing is sent to the address supplied on the entry form. 12. Freight to and from the Wangaratta Art Gallery and transit insurance are the responsibility of the entrant. 13. The Wangaratta Art Gallery will insure all works whilst in situ on Gallery premises. 14. All work must be for sale. A commission of 20% will be retained by the Wangaratta Art Gallery; listed prices on artworks should include this commission. 15. A completed entry form indicates that the entrant authorises the reproduction of images of their work and extracts from the artist’s statement and CV in the catalogue, website, publicity and associated publications related to the Award. 16. The winning artwork will be selected from the Award exhibition. The prize is acquisitive and the single winning work will become part of the Wangaratta Art Gallery Collection, owned by the Rural City of Wangaratta. WANGARATTA ART GALLERY HOLDS A BIENNIAL AWARD FOR CONTEMPORARY TEXTILE ART Professional Australian artists working in any style of textile media are invited to submit an entry for consideration within a competitive selection process. A judging panel consisting of the Wangaratta Art Gallery Director and two respected professionals will select a shortlist of finalists for the Award exhibition at the Gallery 3 June – 6 August 2017. The value of the Award in 2017 is $10,000 including GST and this includes the acquisition of the work.
