DIVISION 2 - SITE WORK

SECTION 02000 - GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Replacement: In the event of damage to materials, structures or other existingWORK, the CONTRACTOR shall immediately make all repairs and replacementsas necessary, subject to the approval of Company Representative, at noadditional cost to SAUDI ARAMCO.

B. Shop and Working Drawing Submittals: The CONTRACTOR shall prepare anyrequired shop and working drawings in an approved format and submit toCompany Representative for review and approval prior to the commencement ofWORK and/or fabrication.

C. Material Approval and Substitutions: See Section-01600, Materials, Equipment& Products.

1.02 SURVEY REQUIREMENT

A. Survey WORK: The CONTRACTOR shall furnish his own survey crews andequipment for the entire period of the Contract for the required survey WORK.See Section-01050, Field Engineering.

B. Initial Control Points and Bench Marks: SAUDI ARAMCO will provide initial pointsof reference and bench marks to enable the CONTRACTOR to undertake allsurvey WORK. All control points and bench marks shall be maintained at alltimes during the construction by the CONTRACTOR.

C. SAUDI ARAMCO Verification: All CONTRACTOR'S construction survey andstaking shall be performed in such a manner that the WORK can be checked byCompany Representative.

1.03 TESTING REQUIREMENT

Sampling and Testing: Sampling and testing shall be the responsibility of theCONTRACTOR. Tests shall be performed in sufficient number to insure that thespecified testing requirements of the applicable Sections are met. See Section01400-Quality Control.

1.04 DUST CONTROL REQUIREMENT

Dust Control: Water shall be applied to all areas as required to prevent blowing of dust.The amount of water to be used and the frequency of application shall be sufficient toprevent dust nuisance. Company Representative has the right to require additional

1.05 TEMPORARY BARRICADES, ACCESS, AND TRAFFIC CONTROL

A. Temporary Barricades and Access Roads: The CONTRACTOR shall erect andmaintain pedestrian and traffic barricades and access roads as required for theprotection of the WORK and for the safety of workers and the public throughoutthe construction period.

B. Traffic Control: The CONTRACTOR shall provide traffic control for all areas on oradjacent to WORK where the CONTRACTOR'S WORK, equipment andpersonnel may present a hazard or hindrance to the public.

C. The cost of providing, operating and maintaining all temporary barricades, accessand traffic control measures shall be at CONTRACTOR'S expense for as long asthey are required during prosecution of the WORK by CONTRACTOR. CompanyRepresentative shall be the judge of whether or not temporary barricades, accessand traffic control measures are adequate. If the measures taken byCONTRACTOR have been judged by Company Representative to beinadequate, they shall be increased or corrected to the satisfaction of the

Company Representative at no additional cost to SAUDI ARAMCO.
