DNA-A211-I SOFTWARE UPGRADE UTILITY USAGE PROCEDURE. This document provides the information on upgrading the software to modem. There are two options to upgrade the software to DNA-A211-I.

Option 1: Software Upgrade manually through modem web GUI.

Option 2: Software Upgrade using “Modem Software Update Utility”

1. SOFTWARE UPGRADE MANUALLY THROUGH MODEM WEB GUI

1.1 Switch ON the Modem and connect the Modem Ethernet Port to your PC’s Ethernet

Port using RJ45 Cable.

1.2 Verify the link between the modem and PC by clicking on Start button in the task bar of PC, go to Run and type “ping 192.168.1.1 –t and click on OK button as shown below.

1.3 If the connection is established, you will receive the reply from ADSL Modem as shown in the figure below.

1.4 If the link has not been established then you receive “Request timed out” message as shown in figure below.

1.5 Please check the Ethernet cable and change the IP address on the PC to 192.168.1.2, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.

NOTE: After configuring the PC revert back to the PC Configuration Settings to DHCP mode.

1.6 To perform Software Upgrade follow the steps below.

Step 1: Go to Management section in the main menu and click on the Update Software

button. The following window appears.

Step 2: Click on the Browse button and select the upgrade file from the PC.

Step 3: Click on the Update Software button to update the new software.

Step 4: After Update of the Software the Modem will reboot by itself.

Step 5: After reboot of the Modem access the Modem WEB Page and do the

configuration based on Customer Settings. Like PPPoE User Name and Password etc.

2. SOFTWARE UPGRADE USING “MODEM SOFTWARE UPDATE UTILITY” This utility is built with Upgrade Image for ITI DNA-A211-I ADSL2+ Type-2 Modem. It also simplifies the upgrade tasks. This utility works on Windows 2000 and Windows XP Operating Systems.

2.1 Double click on the 02DSW-700021_ModemSwUpdateUtility.exe file provided to

install the Software update utility as shown in the figure below.

2.2 Following window will be displayed on the PC.

2.3 Click on “Next” to install the Modem Software Update Utility as shown in the figure below.

2.4 Again click on “Next” to install Modem Software Update Utility files in the specified directory.

2.5 Read the pop-up message, click on “Yes” to create the directory and click on “Next” to proceed.

2.6 Click on Start button to install the Modem Software Update Utility on your PC.

2.8 Following screen will be displayed on successful installation. Click on Exit button

 

 

2.9 Double click on the Modem Software Update Utility short cut file created on the desktop. (as shown in below figure)

 

 

2.10 Double clicking on the Modem Software Update Utility short cut file created on the desktop, following screen will be displayed. Click on the UPGRADE button to start the software upgrade.

 

 

2.11 During the upgrade process the Update Utility collects the version details of the Software Image currently running on the modem. Also the utility pops up a warning message to user not to Switch OFF the modem while upgrade in process.

 

 

2.12 Please wait until Modem Reboots.

 

 

2.13 On successful upgradation of modem a pop-up message will be displayed on the screen as shown in figure below. Click on OK and then click on Exit button.

 

 

2.14 Access the Modem WEB Page and do the configuration based on Customer

Settings. Like PPPoE User Name and Password etc.
