State Senators Everett Steele and Joseph Lucco greet riders at Edwards-ville.

The men of Lambda Chi were very happy with and proud ofthe outcome of this year's project. Support from the localitiesinvolved, the campus area, the other Illinois chapters participating, and even our alumni members have helped to make eachyear's ride bigger and better. As a result, mixed with the exhaustion and pride at the ride's end was a feeling that next year'sBike-a-thon will be better yet!

Chapter Advisor Marv Vawter, M.C. for thebanquet, also presented John Crook Jr. of Edwardsville with aLambda Chi Alpha Special Recognition Award for all the help hehas given the Chi Zeta for the last three years.

The Founder's Day Banquet was held to commemorateLambda Chi's second national assembly, in which the major spiritual basis of the fraternity was formulated. The actual date ofthe Assembly was March 22, 1913, but due to this year's Eastervacation, the April 2nd date was picked. Alumni Chairman MikeLembke, who planned and coordinated this year's banquet, hopesthat this will be an annual affair for the alumni to visit Chi Zeta

and help in celebrating Lambda Chi Alpha's most important day.

ALUMNI BOARD

HOLDS SPRING MEETINGThe Board of Directors of the Alumni Association held its

spring meeting at the Chapter House on April 12, 1975. PresidentBill Stallman presided with Directors jeffWandell, Bob Corley,Russ Anderson, Glenn Grosse, Larry Prast, Glenn Gray, MikeLembke and Marv Vawter also present.

The main item of business discussed was the future of theAnnex. University officials have recommended replacement ofthe Annex and the Alumni Board agrees that either major improvement or replacement is necessary. After considerable discussion, the Board gave approval to conduct some preliminary planning of a replacement structure on the existing Annex site. Thegeneral idea is to build a structure having a maximumcapacity of20 men and be so designed to be dependent upon the main Chapter House for eating and meeting facilities. Studies will also bemade as to other replacement facilities that might be available.

Treasurer Bob Corley announced that he has accepted afaculty position at the University of Georgia and would be awayfrom Champaign for at least one year. Brother Russ Andersonwas appointed interim Treasurer of the Alumni Association, effective July 1, 1975, to replace Bob in his absence.

iFuture of the Annex is uncertain.

The reports of the Chapter and Alumni Association indicatedsound fiscal conditions in all respects. Concern was noted on thelack of Alumni Dues Payments this year. Brother Stallman willsend a follow-up letter to all members who have not yet paidtheir 1974—1975 dues.

It was agreed that the gradual renovation of the 209 EastArmory facility would continue with additional electrical wiringand outside painting to be completed this summer. New stairwaycarpeting is also to be installed as soon as practical.

Plans were also reviewed for the fall Homecoming activities. The date will be October 18, 1975, with the Purdue footballgame providing the main attraction. Brother Lembke indicatedplans to emphasize attendance by the 1945—1955 graduates. Itwas also noted that Brother Ralph Smykal enjoyed Homecomingso much last year that he has already ordered hisfootball ticketsfor this year. Brother Lembke accepted thischallenge and agreedto make this year's Homecoming even better than last year —ifthat's possible.
