In accordance with Art. 12 of the Convention for Safeguarding the Intangible CulturalHeritage, which Ukraine acceded according to the Law of Ukraine of 06.03.2008N2132-VI, within the bounds of authority, defined by the Statute of the Ministry ofCulture of Ukraine, approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of06.04.2011 N~d88,
ORDER:
1. To approve the record card standard of intangible culture heritage object(element) of Ukraine according to the Appendix 1.
2. To identify the object (element) according to the List in the Appendix 2 as theobject (element) of intangible culture heritage of Ukraine.
3. To make a record card of object (element) of intangible culture heritage,according to the Article 2 of this Order by the National Reserve "Khortyza",National Museum-Reserve of Ukraine of Fictility in Opishne, Department ofCulture of Ivano-Frankivsk District State Administration, Department ofCulture of Symska District State Administration, Department of Culture ofDnipropetrovsk District State Administration in a month.
4. To provide maintenance of the List of intangible culture heritage object(element) of Ukraine by the Department of Culture Heritage and CulturalValues (A.N. Vingranovskyi).
5. To put the control of the implementation of the Order to the Deputy Minister Head ofStaffO.O.Gubina.

5. The definition and description of the Object (Element) of the Intangible Cultural Heritage:The Pettykivka Painting is represented as an integral part of the intangible cultural heritage of
Ukraine, namely urban settlement Pettykivka of Dnipropetrovsk Region, which was related telTitoriallyand spiritually with the history of Zaporizke Cossacks and up to now preserved the traditions of the uniquefolk art.
The Pettykivka Painting is the art impress of the history of region development. While preservingthe folk traditions it continues the development and is related to the historic events and scientific-technicalachievements that causes the formation of a unique diversity of cultural and alt traditions and the exposureof an individuality of each master in general perception of this cultural phenomenon. In the formation ofstylistic peculiarities of the painting the important Palt was played by geographic location of Petrykivkawith its vegetation and natural landscape.
The Pettykivka decorative painting is the manifestation of the folk art which was formed in 191h_21 sI
century and the house painting alt. In Prydniprov'ya it features the uniqueness and originality. Thepicturesque, poetic understanding of the world of native nature, the beauty ofthe Ukrainian land are laid inthe basis of the painting. The classic elements of the painting are arrowwood branches and field flowers,which image is used in no existing kinds of decorative painting. The main compositional subjects of thepainting are "flowerpot", "bunch of flowers", "branch" and "frieze". These compositions were used as thecomponents of architectural decor. The Pettykivka motifs in which the bright, saturated colours prevail, upto now draw an attention with not only the coloration, but with the exceptional integrity of the creativeidea.
The uniqueness of the painting is its plant, prevailing flower ornament. It is based on the attentivestudy of the real fonns, local flora and creation on this basis of the fantastic, not existing in the natureflowers ("luchka", "kucheriavka"). The motifs of garden (dahlias, asters, roses) and meadow (camomiles,cornflowers) flowers, berries of strawberries and grapes are widely applied. The pictures of the leaveswhich are called "paporot", buds and plumelet openworked leaves are also unique. All Petlykivka masterspaint without preliminaly marked contour, using no measuring instrument. The virtuosity of theperformance is reached by painting using a fin brush made of cat wool. Besides the brush the stems, chipsare used and some belTies and some flowers are painted just by the finger.
The unusual feature of the painting is the fact that the entire picture is expanded on the plane of thewall, the paper sheet or the decorative plate has a plane image. The lines of the stems and the branches arenot cross each other, and many elements of the painting has a silhouette image. The figures of the birds,animals, humans has mainly contour image. The animals are painted in profile, and the flowers in fullface.
The Petlykivka masters are used in accordance with tradition for the painting egg tempera, gouache,
oil paints on primer, under-lacquer painting.The painting features a contrast combination of main and additional colours of the spectrum, where
red and green tints prevail. The composition patterns of the pictures feature static nature, rhythmic balanceof all elements. However, the subjects are different from each other and express the uniqueness of anmaster's individuality.
The talented masters of the modem period, entire creative dynasties which pass on the secrets of thepainting from one generation to another, help to preserve its uniqueness, add to it new topic and techniquefindings that promote the evolution of the Petrykivka painting which was born and exists only inPetrykivka.
