Principals of Design • Emphasis‐One object or group stands out • Contrast‐opposites • Movement‐illusion of movement • PaEern‐repeated image • Balance‐Distribu%on of weight of objects. Objects balance each other out, this includes white space
• Rhythm‐ Organized movement‐like dancing • Unity‐All elements in photo are connected, elements lead the eye from one place to another in the image, crea%ng a visually pleasing image.

THE RULE OF THIRDS The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine
breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and verQcally) so that you have 9 parts. As follows.
The theory is that if you place points of interest in the intersec%ons or along the lines that your photo becomes more balanced and will enable a viewer of the image to interact with it more naturally
