To go to the next or previous page, use the arrows at the bottom of Acrobat. To go to a

specific page, choose the menu option View/Go to. Use the rotate page option within View menu

option if you need to rotate the pages sideways to read them.

You do not have to print the party all at once. It is stored on your computer and you can come

back to the file anytime.

Before you print you should have on hand: (you do not have to print everything at once)

1. White bond paper (regular printing paper)

2. White card stock for the invitations, thank you cards and perhaps some of the activity

materials.

3. Iron-on transfer paper if you plan to create a T-shirt iron-on .

Card stock is also called index stock or 110-pound paper. The designs are not setup to use

perforated greeting card stock. It’s assumed you will cut the invitations on the crop marks.

You can find both card stock and T-shirt iron transfer paper at your local office supply store.

Single sheets of card stock may be available at print shops like

You can have that same magic as you turn yourchild’s special party into a Fairy Tale Party, Knights of the Round table party or Medieval Castle party. You add your guests and food, then have fun yourself!

The party can easily accommodate a mixed gender or all boys or all girls party by selecting the appropriateprojects. Your party should last between 2 and 2 ½ hours depending on whether you serve a meal. Included in your PartiKitTM file are the games and activities you need for your party.

You may print invitations with which to invite your guests. It is best if you mail them at least two weeksbefore the party. A few days before the party, call any invited guests who have not responded to theRSVP.

Review the party games described in this booklet. There are more games than you will probably playduring your party. This allows you to choose those games appropriate to your guests’ ages and activitylevels. Although all of the games have been kid tested and approved, if you are playing a game that islosing your guests' interest, move on to the next game.

The games involve some activity and require you to have open space where the children can movearound. If it's a rainy day you should be sure to have a room about 20 feet long.

Stuff the favor bags and write each child’s party name (on their name tag) on the bag.

Prepare the treasure hunt game.1. You will need assorted colored paper. One color for each player. Print the puzzle from the PrintIt! Kit

on each paper.2. Decide where you will hide their favor bag or gift and write it on the paper along with their party

name. Example, Lovely Lady Lucy, the treasure is in the microwave, would be written on the coloredpaper.

3. Now cut the paper to make puzzle pieces.4. Write the player’s common name (the name your child calls them) on one of the puzzle pieces which

you don’t hide.

As each child arrives, place their special name tag on their chest. Announce their name with a littlefanfare or mock trumpeting and welcome them to the castle of Prince ... or Princess ...Preparation: Follow the directions in Preparing for the activities and Decorate the party room sections.

When the children arrive, they can go to the project table and work on their projects until everyone hasarrived.

The following 3 games are fairly similar, you may wish to play one or all.

Imagine a dragon 20 feet long. With fire from his breath and a tail that can knock over a tree with itsswing.

The Object: To catch the end of the tail (the last child in line).

The Game: The players form a line, one behind the other, holding onto the waist of the player in front ofthem. This makes the Dragon.

The player at the front of the line is the dragon’s head and the players in the middle make up the body. The last player is the tail. The object of this game is for the head to catch the tail. The entire dragon mustremain intact while the head is trying to catch the tail, and the tail is trying to avoid the head. Encouragethe players to make dragon noises as they play.

The Object: The children slithering on the ground try to tag all the children walking.

Preparation: Define a limited area outside of which the two legged reptiles cannot go; this is theswampland playing area.

The Game: In this game, half the players are dragons and slither on the ground, the other half aredragons and can run on two legs. The slithering players should make lots of reptile noises.

The dragons slither in the swamp trying to tag the walking dragons. When a child is tagged he becomes aslithering dragon and begins to slither in the swamp. When everyone is slithering begin the game again, but those who started on their bellies the first time become runners.

The Object: The players keep the angry dragon out of the circle and away from the Princess/Princess.

The Game: In this game two players are chosen. One is "Dragon," the other is "Prince/ss". The otherplayers (the Kings Knights) form a circle with Prince/ss in the center and the dragon on the outside. Thedragon tries to break into the circle to catch Prince/ss but the Knights try to keep him out by raising andlowering their arms. Once Prince/ss is caught, Dragon stays in the middle and the first Dragon chooses anew Prince/ss.

Game 2 William Tell

Game 3 Jousting

Game 4 Who has the Magic Wand?

The Object: Legend has it that William tell was such an accurate bowman, he agreed to split and appleresting on top of his own son’s head. Fortunately, his son lived to tell the tale. The object of this game isto race the course without dropping the apple balanced on your head.

Preparation: You will need two apples plus a spare. Mark a start and turn around point 15 to 20 feet apart. You may wish to use the castle described in game 3 as your turn around point and have the children walkaround the castle before returning to their team.

The Game: 10. Divide the group into two teams.11. At your signal, the first player on each team places an apple on their head and briskly walks the race

course without holding or dropping the apple. If the apple falls, the player must stop and place itback on his head and then continue the race back to his teammates.

12. When he returns to his team, he gives the apple to the next player who repeats the course.13. First team to have all the players complete their turn wins.

The Object: The fastest team to ‘down’ the castle.

Preparation: You will need 2 jousting sticks 2 shields (see preparations for directions) 2 large boxes, 2medium boxes and 2 small boxes. 2 volunteers to re-stack the boxes.

The Game: 1. Divide the children into two relay teams and line-up single file.2. Stack two piles of three boxes each with largest on the bottom, about 15 to 20 feet away from the

children. (Making the castle)3. Have the first player in each line run toward the opposing team’s castle (pile of boxes) and ‘joust’ or

knock down the stack with the lance (jousting stick). After the child knocks down all the boxes,he/she returns to the team. While the child returns to the team and before the next player starts, volunteers re-stack the boxes.

4. The first team to have all the players complete their turn wins.

Object: The person in the center tries to guess who has the magic wand while those in the circle try toavoid being caught.

Preparation: You will need a magic wand, see party preparations.

The Game: 1. The children sit in a circle, and one child is chosen to be the guesser.2. The guesser sits in the center of the circle and closes his eyes, while the birthday child is given the

wand.3. Upon instruction, the children begin to pass the wand from hand to hand behind their backs around

the circle. The guesser opens his eyes. They all keep their hands in constant motion so that it looksas if they all are passing the wand at the same time.

4. The guesser at any time can say “Stop in the name of the King”. The players quickly stop passingthe wand and the center player tries to guess who has the wand. When he guesses correctly bypointing and saying "Show me your treasures" he trades places with that player, who then takes histurn in the center and the passing and guessing continues.

Preparation: Distribute crayons or marking pens and the straw decorations around the table.

Activity: While you are getting the cake and beverages ready, the children can color their strawdecorations.

Object: Find the hidden treasures

Preparation: 1. Hide treasures of the Castle (a party favor or filled favor bag for each player) before the party begins.2. Hide all the puzzle pieces but one. Give this puzzle piece to the player so they know which color

Line the papers together so the image is lined up correctly at the top and the bottom..Put small pieces of tape to secure the papers, use just enough to be able to turn it overand still have the image stay together.

Attach as much tape as you want to the back of the poster to secure it together.

You may wish to trim the overall margins so they are even.
