Roba-Tech … sanding method The main idea of the Roba Tech principle is to avoid the main disadvantage of all today known rotational brush sanding machines: Those who work normally with sanding drum and a diameter of about 350 mm are only in a very small area in touch with the workpiece, about 40 mm. Only in the vertex of the radius of the tool a sanding process is possible. To compensate the very small sanding area normal sanding systems have to increase their rotation speed to a high degree. Only this way they have a chance to get nearly the same effectiveness. But this results a “hard touch” of the sanding paper which leads to an aggressive behavior on the edges, high temperatures and wavy optic of the material. Hurt edges and totally denibbed surfaces are often the result. The innovative and patented Roba Tech is equipped with a totally new developed sanding belt containing 174 sanding strips and provides a sanding area of approx. 1300 x 1600 mm in touch with the workpiece and more than 250 meters of sanding material on all aggregates. This is unique on the market of brush sanding machines. A 360 ° rotation of the sanding aggregate makes it possible to reach all edges and corners of a work piece. Due to the by this means enlarged sanding effectiveness the machine is able to get best cutting

Roba-Tech Vertical … special application Vertical solution for all kind of parts moved in a hanging transport device. Interior and exterior doors as well as furniture fronts and wooden windows can be sanded with this machine while transported vertically. Roba-Tech 650 DI … operation areas A space saving execution for a budget that is also affordable for producers with smaller production amounts. All advantages known from the Roba-Tech 1300 can also be found in the 650 version. Constructed in a working width of 650 mm (26’’) this machine is able to denibb all kind of lasered and stamped metal sheet parts, beside high quality sanding of wooden parts with a width up to a kitchen front door. All features known from this machine range are also intergrated into the 650 mm version:

Roba-Profi Brush … sanding method The main idea of the Roba-Profi Brush sanding principle is the clockwise sanding followed immediately by counter clockwise sanding. Only in this way it is ensured that, independently of the wood grain structure, all upstanding „hairs“ are denibbed. In the main configuration the Roba- Profi Brush machine contains two rotational sanding heads and a pressure roller system. Set up in this way it is a solid basic layout for those customers who wish an optimized price-performance ratio. Due to the modular construction of the Roba-Profi Brush series, the machine can be configured to every customer demand. Six sanding head machines, machines with working width up to 2 m and machines for heavy structuring work have been delivered by MB. Further the machine is used for cleaning of the backsides of thermofoiled cabinet doors and for dust removement in lacquering lines. The simple, modular construction reduces costs and makes the maintenance and set up very easy. Due to the optional, very effective vacuum transport system small pieces like drawers are no problem to be feeded through the machine.

Roba-Profi Disc … operation areas The Roba-Profi Disc principle is used for sanding of flat and grooved surfaces. Constructed for the following operation areas:
* Intermediate lacquer sanding * white wood sanding * MDF – sanding * light structuring processes Constructed on modular basis the customer is able to decide between different configurations:
- Double Brush / Profi Disc System - Profi Disc System / Profi Disc System - Double Brush / Double Brush - and as option the cleaning unit at the machine exit.
The cleaning unit includes special cleaning brushes, an ionization bar with integrated blowing device. The 3-axis rotational disc system is a special construction of MB to improve sanding results: 1st axes: the disc tool rotates 2nd axes: the master disc containing four disc tools rotates 3rd axes: the whole unit oscillates All axis can be set up separately to influence the sanding pattern.

Roba-Profi Clean … operation areas Roba-Profi Clean, the alternative wide brush cleaning machine for a reasonable price. Constructed for the following operation areas:
* Backside cleaning of thermofoiled doors * Cleaning of laminated panels The Roba-Profi Clean as through feed solution guarantees high productivity with best cleaning results. Solution as stand alone version or for large amounts or directly behind the turnover/backside trimming equipment of a thermofoiling line. The only solution able to feed the batch of doors coming out of your membrane press. But also in production of laminated furniture parts this machine is able show its high quality standards.

ROBA- Anti Dust Surface cleaning machine
Roba-Anti Dust … operation areas Roba-Anti Dust, the alternative cleaning solution for furniture parts is constructed for the following operation areas:
* Cleaning of furniture parts before lacquer application * Cleaning of furniture parts before lamination * Cleaning of furniture parts before packing
The Roba-Anti Dust as through feed solution guarantees high productivity with best cleaning results. Solution as stand alone version or for large amounts or directly before the lacquering line. Many users have the problem of imbedded dirt and dust particles after lacquer application. These particles are not removable anymore, because they are placed under the lacquer layer. Ordinary machines with a cleaning brushes transverse to feed direction solve the cleaning problem only insufficient because they are only able to remove dust from the grooves in feed direction, leaving dust in the crosswise grooves. Even worse they sweep all dust into these grooves. The new MB system solves the problem with the help of an oscillating cross unit. This unit takes care that the whole part is cleaned completely, even in the complicated contours. Special brushes collect the dust, ionization brushes reduce static loads, and a blower system finish the cleaning process. On demand the machine is deliverable with a bottom cleaning unit.

Roba-Profile … sanding method The main idea of the Roba- Profile sanding principle is the clockwise sanding followed immediately by counter clockwise sanding: Only in this way it is ensured that, independently of the wood grain structure, all upstanding „hairs“ are denibbed. The Roba-Profile machine in all its configurations is build for sanding moldings found in various furniture, window and joinery companies. Solid, veneered or lacquered. In the main configuration the Roba Profile machine contains two rotational sanding heads and a pressure roll system. Set up in this way it is a solid basic layout for those customers who wish an optimized price-performance ratio. Due to the modular construction of the Roba Profile series, the machine can be configured to every customers demand. E.g. an eight head machine is able to sand profiled moldings from all four sides. Equipped with the MB Flex brush systems the machine is very easy and fast maintained and set up for a new profile. Divergently to the known systems based on sanding belts the Roba Profile brush system forgive a not strictly exact setting of the aggregates. Centralized set up for the side guides and the top pressure roll devices make sure that even not experienced personnel is able to maintain such a machine. In only a couple of minutes a Roba Profile is ready to proceed. Further on this machine type is used for intermediate lacquer sanding. For that application often feeds speeds up to 100 m/min (300 ft/min) are necessary. The standard working breadth is 150 mm, as an option some customers desire 300 mm.

Roba-Simplex Roba-Duplex … sanding method The Roba Simplex/Duplex consists of one or two sanding areas of 100 mm. The height adjustment is done pneumatically in fast movement mode. In this machine two different sanding paper settings can be used. For example for rough wood sanding a grid 120 is placed in the upper belt, while in the lower belt contains a grid 180 for the fine finishing. The change of the sanding areas is done by pneumatically enforced movement with the use of a manual switch. That means that no pre settings are needed. The system is based on a sanding belt system instead of rotating brushes. The advantages compared to rotating brushes are obvious: The work pieces must only be pressed against the sanding belt and not, compared to a normal brush system, be moved from right to left through the brush. This results in considerable lower processing time.

Roba-Flat … operation areas The Roba-Flat was developed especially for the window manufacturers who do individual single piece production. However, it also finds possible implementations in all joiners’ workshops and industrial plants. Operation areas:

The Roba-Flat machine stands out due to the simple operation and optimal denibbing results. The time for processing is shortened considerably. The flat parts of the work piece are sanded in area 1 with the short sanding paper setting. This area is 150 mm wide. The shaped profile parts are sanded in area 2 since the slim slotted paper is able to get into the depths of the profiling easily. This area is 100 mm wide. In this way the four-sided denibbing process lasts only a few seconds and does not strain the employee due to the ergonomically favourable construction of the "lying" dragging aggregate. The new constructed Twin Flat contains two brush belts which movement direction is outward orientated. This avoids a too aggressive rounding of the edges and burn through during sealer sanding procedures. Another advantage is the improved handling of long work pieces.

Roba-Multi Sand … operation areas The Roba-Multi Sand is developed for smaller workshops, carpentries and joineries that need to sand small amounts of all kind of work pieces. A vertical unit is suitable for the sanding of furniture door edges. The horizontal unit is mainly used for all kind of jobs that need a more aggressive sanding. As a plus for the user MB implemented an easy to set up solution for parts to be sanded from top in a through feed process. The feed system is already mounted to the machine and can be moved in place with an easy turn. A pressure roll system holds pieces down during the sanding process. Operation areas:

LA-500 … gluing operation
The two part gluing tool has up to three main channels connected with a valve block. In this way every
channel can be provided with the needed glue separately. So every kind of gluing can be done specifically and independently.
In the five piece door production in the furniture industry the operator has the possibility to define exactly where he wants glue to be squeezed out and where to avoid it.

Slotting options: Which slotting is chosen depends on the profile layout. If a work piece with a milled groove of 8 mm has to be sanded, the slotting has to be smaller (5mm). Flat work pieces should be sanded with a slotting of 20 mm or wider. If an edge is damaged in the process of lacquer sanding of flat pieces, the slotting width has to be reduced. An other variation of the MB Flex system is the "Super Flex" support brush. This is always recommended if scratches in the work piece surfaces or white lined edges during sealer sanding operations have to be avoided Especially in the field of lacquer sanding this system shows very good results. Because the MB Flex system is also used in machines of other suppliers, MB offers dove tails in different sizes. In this way the customer can be sure that the delivered strip fits into his machine.

If companies want to sand all kind of mouldings in an uncomplicated and fast way, they have to consider the moulding sanders from MB Maschinenbau. One totally new development is a
combination of the Roba Belt and Roba Profile machine line: the Belt aggregates equipped with low grits do the basic sanding and the double brush units with higher grits are responsible for finish sanding. Due to the roller transport system the machine is able to sand even narrow profiles. Setup for a new profile can be done in a few minutes.
The effective working and easy to maintain MB surface sanding machine are favoured by many worldwide customers. But in some cases there is also the need for an additional edge sanding. Now, with the new developed side sanding aggregate, there is the possibility to integrate such a device in every line. Equipped to customer demands this new unit can be added to all MB surface sanding machines. Up to five vertical sanding units are movable sideways via spindle support. The position is free selectable and in case the aggregates can be moved outside the working area.
