The Update Proud To Serve Those Who Preserve Our Freedom “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” Dale Carnegie I have always said that to be successful in the credit union industry, you must be a people person and build trust. You have to show a genuine interest in people and their financial situations. Listening and gathering information from members is critical to offering financial assistance. Throughout the years I have talked and listened to hundreds of our credit union members. Sometimes a member needs a shoulder to cry on, or is simply seeking guidance from someone they trust. That is the most satisfying and enjoyable part of my job. Even after twenty seven plus years, I look forward to speaking with our members. This morning I was late for work and pulled into the parking lot around 9:20 am. As I walked to the entrance of our building, a brand new black truck was leaving our office. The truck slowed down and came my way. As the truck came to a stop, the driver rolled down his window. “Good morning” the driver said, and I walked over to talk with him. The driver said “you may not remember me (8456100) but you approved my first truck loan in 1995. And I wanted you to know how thankful I am for the opportunity you gave me.” To his surprise, and mine too I suppose, I did remember him. I called him by name and told him thank you for taking the time to make my day! I thanked him for his support of our place and along he went. Moments like that make it so easy to climb those credit union steps each morning. Thank you all for your support. Best wishes for 2018 and God bless! Randall W. Proud To Serve Those Who Preserve Our Freedom

News and Information from your SC National Guard FCU January 2018

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” Dale Carnegie

I have always said that to be successful in the credit union industry, you must be a people person and build trust.
