The original sliding aluminium window restrictor, the Remsafe Venlock is easier and quicker to install than any other window restrictor available. Once installed, the Remsafe Venlock enables a window to be opened and closed to the restricted distance without the use of a key each and every time. Unlike conventional window locks, this unique design feature improves window safety by eliminating the risk of a window being inadvertently unlocked and unrestricted.

The Remsafe Cable Lock is the world’s smallest cable restrictor. It can be installed on all window types and materials. Its compact design increases window safety and security by allowing the window to be opened and closed to the restricted distance without the use of a key each and every time.

Multi-bolt
The Remsafe Multi-bolt is designed using the unique Remsafe locking body to provide a multi-purpose locking solution that is compact and strong. Ideal for restricted ventilation and added security, the Remsafe Multi-bolt is independently tested to comply with Australian window safety legislative requirements.

Remsafe LyLock is a traditional window safety device for sliding aluminium windows. It is easy to install, comes in several colours, and meets all Australian legislative safety requirements.

Permanent Restrictor Plug
For added safety and security, the Remsafe Restrictor Plug inserts into the locking body of Remsafe window safety devices to permanently restrict the window lock in place.
Application: Suitable for all Remsafe Venlock, Cable Lock, Multi-bolt and LyLock

Window type
All windows in all rooms where the lowest level of the window is less than 1.7m above
the floor and the internal floor below the window is 2m or more above the outside
surface beneath.
Bedroom Windows where the lowest level of the window is less than 1.7m above
the floor and the internal floor below the window is 2m or more above the outside
surface beneath.
Non-Bedroom Windows where the lowest level of the window is less than 1.7m above
the floor and the internal floor below the window is 4m or more above the outside
surface beneath.
Restricted opening distance 125mm 125mm
Does the window need to be permanently restricted?
Windows do not have to be permanently restricted. If the window safety device can be removed or unlocked, it must have a
child-resistant release mechanism.
Some windows may need to be permanently restricted depending on height of barrier and the presence of
climbable elements below the window. If the window safety device can be removed or unlocked, it must have a child-resistant
release mechanism.

If the lowest level of an openable window is less than 1.7m above the floor and the floor is more than 2m above the outside ground, a safety device must be installed.
Safety devices are required all windows in all rooms of existing and new strata schemes that meet the above height specifications.
Owners corporations have until 13 March 2018 to comply with the legislation.
Windows may be opened to their full extent where it is safe to do so.
Windows do not have to be permanently restricted however if a window safety device
is capable of being removed or unlocked it must have a child resistant mechanism.
There is no requirement for installer-issued compliance certificates.
There is no requirement that installers test devices after installation.
