2019 Scholarship Judges Needed!

Greetings Chapter Basilei, The Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. is conducting its 2019 Graduate Scholarship Application Judging. We are in great need of volunteer judges to participate in this process. The number of in-house scholarship applications we receive has grown over the years, which has increased our need for willing volunteers. This year I am pleased to announce that we received over 500 graduate scholarship applications!

Please forward this email to your chapter members as there may some with plans to be in Chicago and have a bit of time to volunteer. We offer scholarships in two categories; Financial Need and Merit-Based. Judging typically takes a minimum of one to two hours. For flexibility, two sessions are being held at the Corporate Office: Wednesday, September 25th and Thursday, September 26th from 10:00 A.M.-7:00 P.M. You can arrive any time during the session that best suits your schedule. Refreshments will be served throughout the sessions. UPCOMING EVENTS

September 28, 2019 Chapter Meeting

Redan Middle School 10:30 am

CHAPLAIN’S CORNER The word for the month of September is: Patience

You've heard the expression that Patience is a Virtue. It's that good quality in a person. I can concur that patience is the capacity of a person that shows that they can tolerate troubles, delays, and sufferings...that is a virtue. As we focus on Patience, this month, let's allow the Holy Spirit to work through us. There are numerous examples of those who exhibited patience. Job, Moses, Jeremiah, and God himself, personified the true virtue of patience. God's patience leads us to that virtue. Be patient! QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "Trust the Process. Your time is coming." Scripture of the week: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 NIV

Organizing and Managing Your Finances

Knowing where your accounts are, how to access them and what those accounts contain

is crucial to smart financial management. When you keep your financial information in

one place and up to date, you can help ease stress on yourself, your family or other

beneficiaries.

• Get organized, for yourself and your loved ones

• Maintain important documents and share key information. This will provide peace

of mind should anything unexpected occur. Be sure to periodically walk a spouse,

partner, adult child or trusted friend through legal and financial records, PIN

numbers, passwords and other personal information.

Complete the attached checklist “Tips to Organize and Manage Your Finances” to get

started.
