Concept ArtConcept Art is an initial drawing used to convey an idea; it is usual used for games, comic books, cars and films. It is what the final outcome should look like, but it is normally changed and improved.

GUIA GUI (Graphical User Interface) is an interface that makes it easier for the user to interact with a device. They use icons and images instead of using a text-based interface. A GUI can be an operating system like windows, windows uses the icons to open a program instead of typing a command to open it.

PixelMost monitors and screens are all made up of Pixels (Picture Element). Pixels are usually dots or squares that have their own colour, they are usually made from 3 original colours Red, Green and Blue and lots of them make up the image.

Image ResolutionThe most common resolution is 1920x1080 this is a High Definition image if you had a lower Standard definition resolution like 480x360 the image would look lower quality and if you had a higher 4K resolution that would be Ultra High Definition.

BitmapThe majority of images are Bitmap images they usually end in .GIF, .PNG, TIFF and .JPEG. All bitmap images are made of pixels and if you zoom in you can see all the pixels that make up the image.

Vector ImageA vector image is made of geometrical primitives like points, curves, lines and polygons. To view the image it has to determine the direction, colour, shape and thickness. The image is rendered every time you view the image; this means that it could be scaled up without losing quality.

CompressionCompressing an image makes the file smaller meaning it can be uploaded and downloaded quicker. Most compressed files are put into zip folders so that they are easier to download. When an image is compressed it loses some of the quality but is a smaller files size, this is useful if and image is extremely large.

Capturing Digital Images

There are many ways of capturing digital images such as using a Digital camera, a phone, scanner, graphics tablet and many more. Some are more expensive and capture images at higher qualities.

Storing Digital Images

There are lots of ways to store digital images so that they can be viewed later; some of them include SD Cards, External Hard Drives, USB Flash Drives and The Cloud. These methods very in size, storage, capacity and price.
