Land Victoria is part of Local Infrastructure and plays a pivotal role in the Victorian Government’s responsibility for providing effective property markets through the integrity and efficiency of its land administration systems.

The BranchValuer-General Victoria (VGV) provides professional valuation services and expertise to and on behalf of Government. This comprises two key functional areas:• Government Valuations - for Whole-of-Government property transactions; and • Rating Authority Valuations – Certification and/or provision of Municipal Valuations.For information on Valuer-General Victoria (VGV) visit http://www.delwp.vic.gov.au/valuationAccountabilities Undertake complex, urgent and sensitive valuations for government agencies and public

sector clients ensuring the maintenance of valuation standards and delivery within agreed timeframes

Provide expert advice on valuations to client organisations and the government, particularly in the area of compulsory acquisition and make presentations to industry groups

Negotiate and resolve disputes to finalise and derive satisfactory outcomes of valuations Defend contested valuations being arbitrated or before the Victorian Civil and

Administrative Appeals Tribunal or Supreme Court Contribute to the development of policy and procedures for the delivery of valuations

services including the continuous improvement of the VGV QMS Train and provide valuation advice to other staffPosition specific requirementsFinancial Delegation Value A declaration of Private Interests will be required for

positions with financial delegations of >$20,000This position has the following specific requirements:

National Police Check will be conducted as part of the selection process (for all non-DELWP employees).Victorian Driver’s License is required.This position has a requirement to work shift work or out of hours work will be required that will involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel

Key Selection CriteriaThe key selection criteria specified below outline the capabilities required for the position.Specialist/Technical Expertise Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API). Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, Land Acquisition and Compensation Act

1986, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation. Knowledge of the government processes and land administration matters. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008
