BROKEN HEART

“A wounded spirit who can bear?” (Proverbs 18:14)

1 Corinthians 2, “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God” (verse 11). The spirit of a person is deeper than the mental understanding or the faculties of memory and reason, and that spirit is the only thing that knows all about you. Your mind doesn’t know all about you. There are things about you that your mind hasn’t yet discovered. It is very possible to carry wounds for years that your mind never knows about.

There is an area deep down inside you that your mind doesn’t know about. Sometimes your mind even refuses to face up to the facts about that area inside you. Psychologists and psychiatrists acknowledge the fact that there are some wounds so painful that the mind refuses to focus on them. It

just turns a blind eye in that particular direction. Nevertheless, the wound is there—deeper than the mind, deeper than reason, deeper than the memory. It is in the spirit. Derek Prince

THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT LINES OF REACTION THAT PROCEED FROM REJECTION

#1 Rejection/Loneliness/Loneliness leads to misery/Then lonelieness and misery lead to self pity/Then depression/Despair hopelessness “It’s no good. I mightas well give up.” /Then death or suicide.

#2 Hardness “If they don’t love me so what who needs them I can do without them.”/Indifference “I don’t care I have been hurt enough. “I’ll put up a barrier that no one will get inside.” Outwardly you’re friendly. You talk to people, joke ,but there is something inside they can never get through./Rebellion “Well they are against me. “I hate them, I hate their religion, I hate their Church and I hate their God.” Some say “God why did you make me this way? “Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why have you made me like this?” (Romans 9:20)

“Why did you bring me into this world at all?.” /Witchcraft Occult realm Seeking false spiritual experiences and

from familiar spirits. Using King Saul as an example witchcraft/rebellion leads to spiritual and physical death.

GETTING TO THE ROOTS!!

The gospel is radical. It goes to the root of the problem.

Matt 3:10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.

This is a picture of how God intends for us to deal with our problems, which are represented by the tree. God says, “It is not enough to chop off a few branches. The tree will go on standing and growing. Even if you chop off the trunk, the life will continue in it and little green shoots will appear. But if you cut the roots, you are finished with the tree.” In God’s plan, the ax is laid to the root of the problem.

Sin and sins are both above the surface, but under the surface we have something else: roots. the root can be described as “self” or the “I,” the ego. “I want, I think, I like, I don’t like, look at me. I’m important, I matter, you haven’t treated me right. The world revolves around me, poor little me, nobody loves me.”

That is the root. Even those who have faced the fact of sin haven’t always dealt with the problem of self. Yet, if the root

Page 4: nuggets4u.files.wordpress.com  · Web viewwounds so painful that the mind refuses to focus on them. It just turns a blind eye in that particular direction. Nevertheless, the wound

(SELF) is not dealt with, the problems will continue. Gleaned from Derek Prince Rejection to acceptance Part 1

JESUS SUFFERED THE GREATEST REJECTION

“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). And there was no answer from heaven. For the first time in the history of the universe, the Father turned a deaf ear to the Son’s cry. Then Jesus knew that His Father had rejected Him. Why had He rejected Him?

The Scripture says that God is “of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness [or iniquity]” (Habakkuk 1:13). When Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness, God averted His eyes and stopped His ears to the cry of His Son.

Christ on the cross bore our rejections—all the agony and the heartache. An exchange has taken place: we are accepted because of His rejection. We are “accepted in the Beloved.”

Jesus also said “ Forgive them, they know not what they do”

Our job now is Rom 12:1-2 Amp Classic (DEATH SELF/EGO)

1 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well

Page 7: nuggets4u.files.wordpress.com  · Web viewwounds so painful that the mind refuses to focus on them. It just turns a blind eye in that particular direction. Nevertheless, the wound

pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service andspiritual worship.

2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned

after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God

Heb 12:14 Will not see the Lord /No consecration!!

Rebellion = I won’t do it

Idolatry & Stubborness = I’ll do it my way/Idols of their own opinion

SOME SIGNS BROKEN HEART

#1 Anger – Protects hurt (Past issues not healed)

#4 Rejection – Cannot receive love Rejects before they get rejected

#5 Disease Compromised immune system 3 John 1:2 Prosper and be in health as soul prospers (Soul = mind will emotions)

#6 Hatred – Grudge hostility coldness unforgiveness hard feelings (Brokeness buried alive)

#7 Emotional wall of separation – No more hurt Fear of love and relationships

SOME DISEASES ATTACHED TO BROKEN HEART Dr.Don Colbert

Hypertension CAD Autoimmune Rheumatoid arthritis Lupus MS IBS Panic attacks Mitral valve prolapse Heart Palpatations Headaches Chronic back pain TMJ Fibromyalgia

Partial forgiveness brings no real emotional cleansing. There may be a decrease in negative feelings, but no emotional freedom or peace in the heart. Partial forgiveness tends to happen in the head. Deep inside memories of events still trigger pain, resentment, regrets. Don Colbert M.D.

Dr. Ellis – Toxic emotions from 3 incorrect beliefs #1 I must do well #2 You must treat me well #3 The world must be easy

SELF PITY

Every person has experienced self pity to some degree. If we remain in self pity it will take you to places of comfort you should not go. Self pity wants to express itself from woundedness and is a super glue to the past. Self pity

Page 9: nuggets4u.files.wordpress.com  · Web viewwounds so painful that the mind refuses to focus on them. It just turns a blind eye in that particular direction. Nevertheless, the wound

isolates, will cause one to nuture themselves until an addiction to self pity forms. The spirit of self pity will say in your ear, I was victimized, rejected, I am justified to feel this way. It is a destroyer and will tell you a ist of all the reasons/lies that you are not accepted, loved or worthy.

Scripture says guard your heart/the issues of life flow from here. The enemy wants to keep the person wounded and broken/they forge planned attacks to hinder and destroy a destiny.

Psalm 119:12 I incline my heart to perform your statues forever.

Set your heart in the direction of heaven minute by minute.

Mark 11:26 "But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions."

Psalm 119:113 I hate the doubleminded but I love your law.

We must hate the old patterns that the enemy has trained you in. Self pity Rejection Unforgiveness Mumuring Complaining Hatred

Refusing to rise up/Afraid to be transparent in order to be healed/We hate things that are not a habit yet

Page 10: nuggets4u.files.wordpress.com  · Web viewwounds so painful that the mind refuses to focus on them. It just turns a blind eye in that particular direction. Nevertheless, the wound

Unpack the hurt and pain once and for all/Release the persons, places ,things, events. You cannot run the race with all the baggage, it will make you miss the mark!

Psalm 51:7 My sacrifice Oh God is a broken spirit, a broken contrite heart, God you will not despise.

Henry Wright – What kind of love casts out fear? Perfect love.

#1 Repent and renounce unbelief #2 Receive the love of God #3 Receive the love of others. If this does not happen John 4:18 says fear has torment. You become one in spirit and soul with what fear represents. That is the foundation of all depression and most psychological disease.

Francis Macnutt – Insignificant events buried can be a big key to freedom. (They were a big event when they happened/We stuffed it down/forgot about it/Holy Spirit may bring these event

The chordae tendineae, or “heart strings”, are cord-like tendons that connect the papillary muscle to the tricuspid valve and the mitral valve in the heart. During severe emotional trauma they can actually snap and break causing a “broken heart” that can lead to other health complications. http://www.spiritmindbodyconnection.com/toxic-thoughts.html

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Inside the bones is the marrow…a essential in the immune system

See picture of strings behind the heart…they can break when there is a broken heart.

Forgiveness and repentance is first step to healing

your memory/so you can forgive/

A wounded heart that doesn’t receive healing is an open door for evil spirits.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

Matthew 18:21-35 ( 21 Then Peter came and said to Him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?"

22 Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

23 "For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves.

24 "When he had begun to settle them, one whoowed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.

25 "But since he did nothave the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with hiswife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made.

26 "So theslave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, 'Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.'

28 "But thatslave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii ; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, 'Pay back what youowe.'

29 "So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, 'Have patience with me and I will repay you.'

30 "But he was unwilling * and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed.

31 "So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their lord all that had happened.

32 "Then summoning him, his lord said to him, 'You wicked slave, I forgave you all thatdebt because you pleaded with me.

33 'Should you not also have had mercyon your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?'

34 "And hislord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him.

Genesis 4:4-7 4 Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of theirfat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering;

5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.

6Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?

7 "If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin iscrouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it."

A case history: A ten year old girl and her dog/Best friends/her parents saw dog was aging/feeble. Euthanized it. The girl was

devastated. She lost her best friend. She also lost trust of her parents. She vowed she would never love and trust again. 30 yrs later at a deliverance conference, the minister saw a girl with a dog on her lap in a vision. Now a grown woman she was able to forgive/release She married a short time later.

Negative words spoken over us/teasing/bullying/rejection in the womb/death of a parent/abuse/attempted murder/betrayal/people lying about us/believing lies whispered by the enemy/traumas.

Case History: A grown adult 65 yrs old. Was adopted did not know it. He was 12 when an aunt told him “Your not one of us your adopted” This crushed him. He struggled with alcohol and drugs for several years as a young adult. He ended up in jail. He found the Lord Jesus in jail and ministered at the jail for decades to other men. When he told his story to every new person it was in high definition 3D. It was from a wounded heart that kept him in self pity.

When we testify it should not be in 3D, fresh like it just happened (EG:When it happened 50 yrs ago) It should #1 Glorify God and how he saved us/carried us through/ it will not be told with a high test ping/When we share… It will be like a silent black and white movie instead of 3D surround sound.

Pain in a memory or regrets indicate bitterness/unforgiveness is hiding.

Praising the Lord calling Him worthy to be praised 2 Sam 22:4 /2CH 2:17 If we go through the gates of praise into God’s presence and worship Him, our enemies become confused and destroy one another! Could this be a block to our restoration?

WHAT DID DAVID DO? 2 Sam 22

1 DAVID SPOKE to the Lord the words of this song on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hands of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

3 My God, my Rock, in Him will I take refuge; my Shield and the Horn of my salvation; my Stronghold and my Refuge, my Savior–You save me from violence. [Gen. 15:1.]

4 I call on the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.

5 For the waves of death enveloped me; the torrents of destruction made me afraid.

6 The cords of Sheol were entangling me; I encountered the snares of death.

7 In my distress I called upon the Lord; I cried to my God, and He heard my voice from His temple; my cry came into His ears.

18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

19 They came upon me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my stay.

20 He brought me forth into a large place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.

21 The Lord rewarded me according to my uprightness with Him; He compensated and benefited me according to the cleanness of my hands.

22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

24 I was also blameless before Him and kept myself from guilt and/iniquity. (NOTE: When we repent it removes guilt regret sorrow)

25 Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in His [holy] sight.

26 Toward the loving andloyal You will show Yourself loving andloyal, and with the upright and blameless You will show Yourself upright and blameless.

27 To the pure You will show Yourself pure, and to the willful You will show Yourself willful.

31 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried. He is a Shield to all those who trust andtake refuge in Him. Note: NO Unbelief

35 He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

36 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; and Your condescension and gentleness have made me great.

37 You have enlarged my steps under me, so that my feet have not slipped.

38 I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; and I did not turn back until they were consumed.

47 The Lord lives; blessed be my Rock, and exalted be God, the Rock of my salvation.

48 It is God Who executes vengeance for me and Who brought down [and disciplined] the peoples under me,

49 Who brought me out from my enemies. You also lifted me up above those who rose up against me; You delivered me from the violent man.

50 For this I will give thanks and extol You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing praises to Your name.

51 He is a Tower of salvation and great deliverance to His king, and shows loving-kindness to His anointed, to David and his offspring forever.
