The China Private Equity Summit is an HKVCA flagship event, attracting over 600 venture capital and private equity

practitioners, leading corporates, and other industry professionals and participants from across the region. It is

recognized throughout the industry as the preeminent, “must-attend” practitioners’ conference, and features in-depth

discussions and information on the latest developments and trends in the private equity market in China.

    

The “new normal” in China appears to be mid, single-digit growth, which while still respectable, is significantly slower

than in previous years. From “consumption upgrade” amidst general exuberance, sentiment has become more

subdued. The economy has been overshadowed by trade tensions with the US. Despite both countries’ efforts to reach

common ground after a series of negotiations, uncertainties linger over the bilateral relationship. While new unicorns

continue to be created and some of the existing ones continue to flourish, a few others have faltered or retrenched.

Healthcare and education, the two “alpha sectors” in the economic transformation, have seen many policy changes.
