Session 1 PhonicsToday we are practicing writing words in sentences.
1. Say your sounds out loud: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss, j, v, w, x, y, z, qu, sh, ch, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air, ure, er
2. Complete the high frequency and tricky word activity below. You can do some of the words or all of them.
All you need to do is: -read the word- say it then write it.-see if you can write that word from memory.

3. Now, let’s have a go at writing short sentences.On a piece of paper, can you write a short sentence about each picture? You have been given a ‘sentence starter’ but can you write the rest of the sentence? Use the picture to give you some inspiration about what to write.

Let’s have a go at making this colourful butterfly above.
Using crayons, coloured paper, paint or whatever you have available, make a symmetrical butterfly. Symmetrical means when something is the same on both sides.The butterfly below is symmetrical as it is the same on both sides.
Can you check if both sides are the same on the butterfly below?
Now, make your own symmetrical butterfly!
