The Warehouse Comedy Festival: Hannah Gadsby, Kiss Me Quick, I'm Full Of JubesTuesday,5 April 2011

Hannah Gadsby features in the first of the best and brightest of the comedy festival stand-ups on the circuit.

She is one of the sharpest and funniest of Australian comedians who pour blood, sweat and tears into the circuit every year, then have their shows disappear at the end of the season. This series, introduced by Adam Hills, was filmed in an old sawtooth warehouse in Melbourne, and captures their brilliance, and laughs, before they are lost forever.

Gadsby, whose set is called Kiss me Quick I'm Full of Jubes, has her trademark droll, deadpan, self-deprecating observations about herself and her family that has delighted audiences everywhere.

A former winner of the Raw Comedy event, she is now also a regular on Adam Hills Live in Gordon Street Tonight on ABC1.

PRODUCTION DETAILS:Executive Producers: Paul Wiegard and Tim Anderson; Directed by Danielle Karalus. A Madman Entertainment and Token Events production.

Blood, Sweat And Luxuries: GemsWednesday,6 April 2011

Six young British consumers swap their luxury lives for the simple mud huts and shanty towns of Africa and Asia to work alongside the people who mine, manufacture, process and recycle luxury goods.

In Britain today, what were once luxuries are fast becoming everyday items. From electrical gadgets to leather handbags and shoes, as more and more is consumed, products are increasingly disposable. Would consumers care more if they knew the human cost of making luxuries?

The Brits head to the isolated mining town of Ilakaka in Madagascar to discover where the gems and jewellery sold on the British high street come from. In the vast open-pit mines they join hundreds of workers in chain gangs digging for one of the most sought-after gems in the world - sapphires. When the back-breaking work becomes too much for James, Alexandria and Lucy, they're shocked to discover the alternative - a makeshift 50-foot-deep mine shaft accessed by rope and pulley.

Soon it's not just the extreme working conditions and hand-to-mouth existence of the locals that shock the Brits, but the value of the rough stones compared to the expensive shiny jewellery for sale in Western shops. Will they have the same love for luxuries again?

PRODUCTION DETAILS:A Ricochet Production.

Being HumanFriday,8 April 2011

Nina (Sinead Keenan) fears the worst for her pregnancy, since the baby was conceived whilst she and George (Russell Tovey) were transformed as werewolves. On their search for information from other werewolves, they encounter surly McNair (Robson Green) and his over friendly son Tom (Michael Sochaas), who claims he was born a werewolf.

Mitchell (Aiden Turner) is scared to find more werewolves around so close to a full moon, since the prophecy he was dealt foretold that he would die at the hands of one. He arranges for McNair to be captured for a vampire blood sport, but George and Nina are caught instead and forced into a cage together.

Mitchell, Annie and McNair must fight off the vampires in order to rescue the others before the full moon transforms them into deadly creatures that would tear each other apart.

The TudorsFriday,8 April 2011

Following the christening of his daughter, Elizabeth, Henry (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) increases the pressure on England's clergy - and particularly his former Chancellor, Sir Thomas More (Jeremy Northam) - to recognise his marriage to Anne (Natalie Dormer). When Lady Mary refuses to accept that England has a new queen, Henry sends her to live at Hatfield where she will be one of Elizabeth's attendants.

While More and Fisher (Bosco Hogan) continue to defy Henry, Brandon (Henry Cavill) intends using his position at the court to fight from within. Meanwhile, as Chapuys (Anthony Brophy) cautions Brereton against making another assassination attempt, Anne presses her brother, (George Padraic Delaney) to get rid of Henry's mistress.

Meanwhile, Cromwell (James Frain) presents the Act of Succession, declaring that all future heirs will be descendants of Henry and Anne, and demanding that everyone swear an oath of allegiance. As Fisher remains loyal to Rome the Pope promotes him to Cardinal. While Anne is distraught over Henry's taking a mistress while she is pregnant, her father cautions her not to overreact.

With Thomas More preparing for his own imprisonment, the prolonged resistance and Fisher's elevation outrages Henry, who orders that those who won't bow to his will, will be punished. After refusing Chapuys' plea that Katherine (Maria Doyle Kennedy) be allowed to see their daughter, Henry finds a new mistress.

Finally, when he won't repent, More is imprisoned in the cell above Fisher's.
