The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
A Stated Truth To Start… The main concern God has always
had with man his heart Prov 4:23 Lk 8:15 Acts 8:21-22 Not just outward actions that comply Actions that come from committed
hearts
A Stated Truth To Start… God is the only Being that can know
this deeply hidden aspect of man Heb 4:12-13 Jn 2:24-25 1 Sam
16:7 While this “stated truth” has
numerous applications for N.T. Christians, we’ll focus only on 1 a disciple’s dress
A Stated Truth To Start… Consider Peter’s admonition 1 Pet
3:1-5 Context = a believing woman trying to
save her unbelieving husband Focus is not on her outward appearance
(under-dressing OR over-dressing) Focus = the “hidden person of the
heart”
Another Stated Truth… The previous truth doesn’t mean
God is not concerned re: man’s outward actions Of particular interest = our dress
There are passages from both the O.T. & the N.T. that clearly indicate some things re: our dress

“Nakedness” doesn’t just mean totally nude cp. 2:25
God obviously wasn’t pleased with how Adam & Eve covered themselves
Modesty isn’t just about others seeing us without proper clothing

God made provisions for even “accidental” revealing of flesh
Proper undergarments that covered the thigh to the knees
