In 3D animation, I create very short animation that have a concept and gives a message to the viewer. I try to create different styles of animation modeling to attract wider range of audience.I created a short animation about chess pieces, with the idea of war creates sadness and lonliness. I also created a short animation of a young boy living in a traditional Emirati setting. In this animation the target audience were forigners that are interested in our culture.
Illustration
My Illustration work is inspired by the Japanese manga (Japanese comic) style. I try to introduce this style of art to our society and accept it as anew fresh style. In some of my illustrations, I use the manga style to design my local designs to be more accepted and popular in the Arab society.

MangaIslamic Manners
The Fox and the Crow
In manga (Japanese style comic), I like to take a general idea or concept and change it to make it contemporary or that is relatable to our society. In “Islamic Manners” I took the idea of “sharing” in Islam and made it more contemporary by using daily situations. “The Fox and the Crow” is a classic story which I took and twisted the story and characters to make it more suitable for my audience.
Photography
Memories are created in every place i go, and I capture these memories with my camera, from landscape to people. As a visual person, I believe that pictures discribe a moment more than words, because evey person may look at the picture and think differently from the other.

Biography
Dana Abdulaziz Al Mudhareb is an animation student at Zayed University. She is passionate about arts, and joined the Department of Art and Design. She is interested in many forms of art like illustration, painting, drawing, video, and other fields. She wants to create 3D characters that are inspired by the Japanese style and introduce it into her culture. The Japanese animation style is distinguished with its character design and storyline. Their style of animation is varied from realistic to cartoonish, yet they have common elements to them with an exaggeration of the character big eyes, hair, fashion, and facial expressions. Her goal is to create 3D videos that have a message for her audience, and further develop work that combine illustrations and manga (Japanese comics).
Artist Statement
As an animator, I want to create something that is enjoyable and has message. In the field of animation, it is categorized as 2D, and 3D animation, which is my specialization. What inspired me to choose 3D animation is that I can create moving graphics that are more advanced in technology and closer to reality. I combine the realistic aspect of 3D animation and create cartoonish looking environment and characters. What I want from the audience to see through my 3D animation is that even if I create cartoonish looking environment and characters that exist in real life, the story and message behind it can be related to us in different ways. That is what inspired me to have animation as my major, and want to be a professional animator.
In my work, I try to combine the Japanese animation The Japanese animation is distinguished with its character design and storyline. Their style of animation is varied from realistic to cartoonish, yet they have common elements to them, for example, exaggeration in drawing the eyes, hair, fashion and expressions. As an Emirati artist I like to take those elements in animation and modify it to suit our local audience.
The first type of animation that was introduced to the UAE was the western animation. The storyline and character design was targeting the younger audience, thus we had the idea that animation is only for kids. The Japanese animation became more popular in the last ten years because the audience target range was not focused on kids only, but also teenagers and young adults.
My current animation work is focused on animation modeling and movement. I am combining Arabic setting with random characters that I create, and I’m improving my story-‐telling technique to make it more interesting for the audience, and try to relate them to my animation. Besides animation work, I have different illustration work, and manga (Japanese comics) work. I would like to give a strong impact on the viewer through my work, using the Japanese animation style.
