Christianity:

Intimate & authentic relationship with God the Father, through trust in Jesus (God the Son); empowered by the Holy Spirit.

God’s commands: Boundaries to protect us from evil and harm. God’s commands are NOT to get God to love you (He already does). Commands don’t earn relationship. Jesus won relationship for us on the cross; it’s a gift.

WRATH:

In your anger, do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

~ Ephesians 4:26-27

“He that would be angry and not sin, must be angry at nothing but sin.”

~ William Secker (17th century British minister)

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

~ Ephesians 4:30-32
