AWS is accredited by the European Central Bank for supplying Euro banknote paper and its mis-sion is to provide the central banks and security printers with state-of-the-art custom-made pa-pers that meet their safety, quality and durability requirements. It also develops and commercializes holographic security stripes that integrate the latest technolo-gies in dynamic optical effects. We have recently installed a foil stamping line designed for these security threads.

Throughout 2017, Pasaban will participate in different conferences on high-security printing. Under the motto “High precision adding security features”, we will demonstrate our ability to de-sign and manufacture high technology machines for the high-security printing sector. Our aim is to form alliances with companies in the sector, offering customized machines capa-ble of adding security features to banknotes and other high security documents of any substrate. HSP Europe took place at the end of March in Baku, focusing on personal and government documents such as paper money, fiduciary docu-ments, identification cards, visas, etc. We believe it was a very positive experience in which besides having participated with a stand we attended highly interesting conferences.

As for highlights we choose the conferences of Turkey, Poland and Hungary, countries which agreed that the amount of cash in circulation has increased substantially in the last 10 years. Conferences presented by companies such as Innovia, Kba-Notasys, Sicpa, Kurz and G&D were also relevant, as was the case study of “Chess house note”, developed by PWPW, Sicpa and Jura, which demonstrated elements of latest-generation security.

In June we are participating in HSp latin america, which will take place in Guatemala City. We look forward to meeting you at our stand!

tHe portrait window of tHe new 50 euro banknoteS iS applied uSing paSaban tecHnology

The new 50-euro banknote entered into circula-tion on 4 April. As it did with the 20-euro note, the European Central Bank has chosen to use the portrait window security threat as a level 1 security feature helping to make the notes more difficult to counterfeit.

At Pasaban we are proud to have designed and

manufactured the laser punching machine that makes the portrait window and also being respon-sible of applying to register the holographic stripe.

Our product range for the security market includes: polymer and paper sheeters, winders, hot foil stamping machines and laser perforation systems.
