Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose
surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. (1)
This was the greatest honor given to any human being and Allah SWT chose Rasoolullah
SAS for this journey. This verse talks about the first leg of the journey called Israa.
Allah SWT glorifies Himself, for His ability to do that which none but He can do. The Prophets all gathered there, and Rasoolullah SAS led them in prayer. This indicates
that he is the greatest leader of all, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him
and upon them all. Banu Israel will have two mischievous moments on earth

Indeed the Qur'an shows that way which is perfectly straight: To those who believe in it and do good
deeds, it gives the good news that there is a great reward for them
Allah SWT praises His noble Book, the Qur'an, which He revealed to His Messenger
Muhammad SWT. It directs people to the best and clearest of ways.
Rasoolullah SAS describes The Qur'an as: 'It contains information about what has happened
to those communities before you, news of that will happen after you laws to govern you. It is the
distinguisher between the truth and the falsehood. If anyone seeks guidance elsewhere Allah will
2
lead him astray. It is the strong rope of Allah. It is the reminder with wisdom, and it is The
Straight Path. It protects souls who obey it from being ruined and misguidance and tongues that
recite it from ambiguity. Scholars of the Qur’an always crave more from it. Reading it again and
again never bores its reader; neither does the reader lose any taste by reading it over and over
again. Its magnificent wonders that astonish the mankind never end, "They said `We have really
heard a wonderful Recital." (al-Jinn 1). He who utters it speaks the truth. He who acts according
to it will be rewarded. He who pronounces judgment according to it will be just. He who invites
people to it will guide them to the straight path.'"

And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one
of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at
them but address them in terms of honor. (23)
In these verses Allah SWT states what is good faith and morals in a comprehensive way:
o Tawhid
o Avoid Shirk
o Dutiful to parents
Treating them with more care as they reach old age
No harsh words
Make Du'a for them w( when they are alive and they pass away)
o Be good to kith and kin
o Be kind to the poor and needy and the way-farer
o Avoid wasting resources
o Avoid being miserly and too much of a spendthrift
o Abortion and infanticide forbidden
o Fornication and adultery forbidden
o Homicide forbidden
o Do not usurp the wealth of orphans
o Stick to your agreements and contracts
o Be upright in weights and measurements
o Avoid saying things without the correct knowledge
o Your senses are all accountable to Allah SWT
o Avoid arrogance in your dealing with others.

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "If there had been other aliha (gods) along with Him as they assert, then they
would certainly have sought out a way to the Lord of the Throne. (42)
The gods would have themselves tried their best to become masters of the Throne.
Another meaning: If there is another god besides Allah SWT whom you worship in order
to draw closer to Him and so that he will intercede for you with Him, then those whom
you worship would themselves worship Him and seek means to draw closer to Him. So
why go through them? Worship Allah SWT alone, just as those on whom you call besides
Him worship Him. You have no need of a deity to be an intermediary between you and
Him. Let alone when Allah SWT forbade to do seek Him through intermediary.
Everything in the creation glorifies Allah SWT

The entire universe and everything in it bear witness to the fact that their Creator and
Guardian is free from each and every fault, defect and weakness, and that He is far
above this that there should be any partner or associate in His Godhead. People who do not believe the Aakhirah detest The Qur'an

And We have put coverings over their hearts lest, they should understand it (the Quran), and in their ears
deafness. And when you make mention of your Lord Alone in the Quran, they turn on their backs, fleeing
in extreme disgust. (46)
Those who do not believe in The Hereafter have a problem listening to The Qur'an. Thus
their hearts are sealed and their ears are sealed.
When the Muslims said La Ilaha Illallah, the idolaters disliked this and found it
intolerable. Iblis and his troops hated it. When the Adhan is called Iblis flees. The Me’raj was a test because of its very miraculous nature

No one has issues if Rasoolullah SAS had said that he saw in a dream. But the test
comes when it was physical; body and soul. Only faith will make a person believe.

[Iblees] said, "Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You delay me until the Day of
Resurrection, I will surely destroy his descendants, except for a few." (62)
Over and over Allah SWT mentions the plots of Iblis so that man must be cautious and
conscious of his plot.
4
Iblis wants to destroy man from the high position of being Allah SWT’s vicegerent which
demands steadfastness in obedience to one of total disobedience to Him.
Allah SWT informs us that Iblis will use his voice and the voice of every caller who calls
people to disobey Allah by whatever means speech, singing, writing etc.
Then Iblis will wage war against man. Allah SWT says: - لك ور

your troops and cavalry and infantry against them. Basically, Allah SWT says to Iblis: Send
whatever forces you have at your disposal against them. Satan entices man with false promises of success and entangles them in the snare of
false expectations and false hopes. None will follow Iblis except the deniers of faith. As for the Believers Iblis has no
authority over them. Allah SWT will protect them from his evil plots. Temptations on the path of Da'wah

Verily, they were about to tempt you away from that which We have revealed (the Quran) unto you (O
Muhammad SAW), to fabricate something other than it against Us, and then they would certainly have
taken you a friend! (73)
The disbelievers of Makkah were exerting their utmost to turn the Prophet (SAS) away
from his message of Tawheed, which he was presenting, and to force him to make a
compromise with shirk and the customs of ignorance. They tempted him in several ways material things, held out threats, and raised a storm
of false propaganda against him, and persecuted him and applied economic pressure
and social boycott against him. They did all that could be done to defeat his resolve. As a Da'ee sometimes you feel like buckling to pressure but it is Allah SWT who gives
strength to remain firm and continue this mission. We learn that no man, not even a Messenger of Allah, can fight singlehanded against
the deceitful methods of falsehood, unless he receives the help and strength of Allah.
In the end truth will always triumph over evil

diseases. As for the disbelievers it only stands as evidence against them and their loss. The challenge to produce a Qur’an like it

Say: "Even if human beings and jinns should cooperate with one another to bring forth a book like the
Qur'an, they will never be able to bring anything like it, even though all of them help one another." (88)
Those who claim that Muhammad SAS wrote The Qur'an then let them produce one like it and
they can call on the entire creation for help man and jinn. They WILL NEVER be able to do so!
This is a challenge that proves the power of Allah SWT and the truth of His Message! No human
being who wants to establish himself will make such a challenge and remain triumphant. But
this is not the word or Book of a human it is Kalaamullah! The true word of Allah SWT.
The Qur'an is only truth as Allah SWT says: لز نرقح وبال

Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best

The Quraish never liked the Name Ar-Rahman. So Allah SWT is telling Believers that He
has The Most Beautiful Names and Attributes so call on anyone that He has sent down
or made known through Rasoolullah SAS and you will be answered.
Surat-ul Kahf This Surah was sent down in answer to the three questions which the disbelievers of Makkah,
in consultation with the people of the Book, had put to Rasoolullah SAS in order to test him.
These were:
1. Who were "the Sleepers of the Cave"?
2. What is the real story of Khidr?
3. What do you know about Zul- Qarnain? And in some Tafseer “the soul” which was
answered in the Surat-ul Israa.
Rasoolullah SAS said: Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Friday, it will illuminate him with light from one
Friday to the next.
He SAS also said: Whoever memorizes ten Ayat from the beginning of Surat Al-Kahf will be protected
from the Dajjal.

Mighty is the word that comes out of their mouths. They utter nothing but a lie. (5)
This includes anyone who assigns offspring to Allah SWT. There is no basis and they have
no evidence for it apart from their own lies and fabrications.
Exaggeration leads to Kufr with Allah SWT.

Perhaps, you, would kill yourself (O Muhammad SAW) in grief, over their footsteps (for their turning
away from you), because they believe not in this narration (the Quran). (6)
This shows that Rasoolullah SAS did not grieve at the persecution from which he and his
companions were suffering but at the deviation and moral degeneration of his people.
He was grieved because he was convinced that their deviation would inevitably lead
them to Allah’s wrath. But they were bent upon incurring the chastisement of Allah. This life is nothing but a test

The fact is that whatsoever is on the earth, We have made it as its adornment so that we may test the
people as to which of them does best deeds. (7)
The beauty of this world which allures people is only a transitory adornment which has
been arranged merely as a test. But it is a pity that those who do not believe cannot see
and they go headlong into it with eating, drinking and merry themselves therein.
Allah SWT mentions the story of the young men who fled to a cave to save their Faith

(Remember) when the young men fled for refuge (from their disbelieving folk) to the Cave, they said:
"Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right way!" (10)
They were young men who declared the truth about the Oneness of Allah and They had
to run away and take refuge in a cave
They are in a state of sleep and they were awaken by Allah after hundreds of year. This
shows the power of Allah SWT how He controls life.
Instead of learning the lesson from their story people spend time arguing about their
numbers. This is also to inform us that we should not spend time arguing about non-
essential things while leaving the most important things undiscussed.
What we learn is that a true believer should not bow before falsehood; that Allah SWT is
not bound by any law of nature, for He is able to do anything He wills and instead of
wasting time in such useless things, one should focus his attention only on his mission.
Always say In-Sha- Allah when it comes to anything in the future

And never say of anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow," (23) Except say "If Allah wills." … (24)
This was a lesson for Rasoolullah SAS and for everyone when they have to do something
in future. It must not be assumed but rather verbalized.
No compulsion in faith…in the end it is Allah SWT who will reprimand

Truth from Allah has come, choice is up to everyone, believe or disbelieve
7
People must understand that no compromise will be made in regard to the truth just as
the sleepers of the cave did not make any compromise with regard to their creed. Allah SWT will punish and reward accordingly.

And he entered his garden while he was unjust to himself. He said, "I do not think that this will perish -

Allah SWT tells of another story how people are tested with wealth. This man was
granted two well-cultivated gardens but instead of thanking Allah SWT he begins to
praise himself and deny The Hereafter. Allah SWT caused them to be destroyed.

the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it and [then] it becomes dry remnants, scattered by
the winds... (45)
Life and power are among the things Allah SWT controls. He gives life and also death, He
causes the rise and the downfall. It is by His command that the seasons change. People
should look at a plant and think that its condition will not remain forever. So is man.
The only endues is the good deeds.

Moses said to him, "May I follow you on [the condition] that you teach me from what you have been
taught of sound judgement?" (66)
This is the third of four incidents that Allah SWT mentions. Musa (AS) thought that he
was the most learned person alive at that time. So Allah SWT sends him through a series
of incidents which had to be explained by Khidr (AS).
What we see happening may look outwardly like horrible and chaotic but behind the
Divine curtain Allah SWT is in control and in fact He protects His servants.
In the belief in Qadr is that Allah SWT knows what has happened, what is happening,
what will happens and if something did not happen how it would have been had it
happened. Glory be to Allah SWT.
