PRCA  RODEO  ANNOUNCER  OF  THE  YEAR  RETURNS  TO  RODEO  AUSTIN    

Austin,  Texas,  March  18,  2015  –  The  renowned  and  distinguished  voice  of  Wayne  

Brooks  will  return  to  the  announcers  stand  at  Rodeo  Austin  for  his  13th  year.  

 

Like  many  announcers,  Brooks  started  out  as  a  competitor  riding  broncs.  His  will  to  

stay  involved  in  the  industry,  see  friends  and  be  a  part  of  the  game  was  the  number  

one  thing  that  pushed  him  to  announcing  says  Brooks.    

 

Brooks’  impressive  rodeo  resume  and  engaging  personality  are  only  the  beginning  

of  why  he  is  such  an  important  member  of  the  team  at  Rodeo  Austin.    His  passion  for  

rodeo  and  Rodeo  Austin’s  mission  –  Promoting  Youth  Education  and  Preserving  

Western  Heritage-­‐  are  what  keeps  him  coming  back  every  year.    

 

“The  key  word  here  is  benevolence,”  Brooks  said.  “Giving  back  to  the  community  

and  being  able  to  promote  rodeo  is  something  I  love.”  

 

“This  rodeo  is  successful  because  of  all  the  efforts  from  1500  volunteers  to  over  70  

employees  –  the  results  are  monumental,”  said  Brooks.  “It’s  devils  and  details  

between  a  good  show  and  great  show.  At  Rodeo  Austin  they  leave  no  stone  

unturned,  which  spells  out  a  great  show.”  

 

Brooks  was  recently  named  2014  ProRodeo  Announcer  of  the  Year,  an  award  he  has  

received  four  times  in  his  career.  Brooks  plays  such  a  vital  role  in  the  15  days  of  

rodeo  that  his  voice  is  a  comforting  touch  to  those  familiar  with  Rodeo  Austin.  

 

Rodeo  Austin  is  proud  to  call  Brooks  one  of  their  own,  just  as  Brooks  says  he  is  

proud  to  be  a  part  of  Team  Rodeo  Austin.
