CHAPTER I

3. Act to have overriding effect .-- The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding ·anything 'inconsistent therewith ~ontaine.d i_n any_enactment other than tl_1is Act, or in :,:.,y instrnment'having effect by virtue ofany enactment (){her than this Act.

(2) ·The Tribunal shall have·all the po.wen ofa·C.ivil Court fortne purpose oftaking evidence on oath and · ofenforcing the a~ndkce ofwitnesses and ofcompel'ling the discovery'an~ production ofdocuments and material objects and for such other pwposes as may-be prescrib~ ~and the Tribunal'shall b.e deemed to be a Civil Court for all-the purposes ofsection 195 and Chapter XXVI ofthe Code·of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974). ·
