Plummer Mustian, as he is familiarly called, is a son ofthe late Edward Lewis and Caroline Mustian. He was bornnear Warrenton, North Carolina, August g3rd, 1833. He

was converted at tho -age of twelve and' joined the "Tarren-ton Baptist Church.

He was educated at Bllie's' C:rcek Academy, Wake ForestCollege and Crozer Theological Seminary. He was licensedto preach by Marmaduke Church, November 3rd, 1907, andordained by the same church December, 1910. He waspastor of Harris Chapel and Antioch churches in HalifaxCounty seven years. A part of tl;is--time he was also pas-tor of Centreville and Inez churches.

He grew up in the Tar River Association, joined a TarRiver Church, was licensed to preach and ordained by an-other Tar River Church and three of his early pastorateswere Tar River churches,
