His full roster of experience can be found at http://fosterimage.com His work has been featured by PBS and Los Angeles’ premier art institutions - the LA Opera, the Hammer Museum, Center Theatre Group, LATC, Renberg Theatre and Cornerstone Theater. National outlets include the Kennedy Center, Walker Art Center, and Delaware's Dupont Theatre, the oldest, continuously operating legitimate theatre in the country. He has lectured on feature documentary at the International Academy of Film and Television in Asia, and is author of "The Cross-referenced Documentary," a systematic approach to organizing footage and dialogue in regard to storyline, emotion, metaphor, themes, sound and other key story elements. The unique method pairs hard copy transcriptions directly to clip codes - within software applications. Foster's short film “Airborn” was awarded “Best Experimental Film” by the International Festival of Cinema and Technology. Documentaries he has worked on have received nominations and awards, including an Imagen Award for Best Documentary / TV and Film category. [Lalo Guerrero: The Original Chicano, produced by Original Chicano Productions.] As director and editor of USS Cooper: Return to Ormoc Bay, he received a “Best Documentary” nomination from the Asia First Film Festival in Singapore. Foster is also a founder of the Invisible Theater, which performed to sell-out crowds for ten years [1998 – 2007]. Prior to image and video design, his background as an essayist and writing instructor at UCLA Extension, Santa Monica College and California University Long Beach and Northridge steeped him in story structure. His essays have appeared in such outlets as the Los Angeles Times, Details, Esquire, the Advocate, National Public Radio and the Harvard Business Review, among others.
