I am directed to refer to this office letter of even No. dated 17-3-2011 addressed toDGM, SBI, Parliament Street Branch, New Delhi and copy endorsed to all ROs/SROs. Inthis connection it is informed that the State Bank of India, Corporate Office, Mumbai hasvide their e-circular dated 15-6-2011 informed all the CGMs of LHO of all circles thatcontributions of ESIC would be accepted by all branches of the bank, through PoolAccounts, through e-challans only. They have made it clear that in no caseconventional/hand written challan would be accepted and posted by the branches. A copyof the said e-circular along with all the references made therein are forwarded therewith foryour information and necessary action. In this connection it is also clarified that :-

1. The contributions collected would be entered by the concerned SBI branchesthrough screen NO.7127/7128 in the CBS as already informed earlier.

2. The contributions received through cheque in respect of non-SBI banks would bethrough a Parking Account maintained by the bank and would be counted for onlyafter clearance of such cheques.

3. The banks are liable to levy collection charges on outstation chequesemployers may be applicable.

2. It has been decided that henceforth, the collection of contributions of ESICwould be done by all the branches of the Bank, only through current account(Power Jyotl) opened at New Delhi Main Branch in the afore.aid five accounts.The contributions are to be collected only through EStC's By.tem generatedchallan and In no case conventional/hand written challan should be acceptedlPQsted by the branches.

3. In order to avoid inconvenience in MIS/reconciliation, PQtton of Batch postingshould not be used by the Branches. as the detaits of the dep'oaitora are notreflected in the MIS.

4. As regards instruments of other Banks received for credit to the abovePowerJyotl accounts at Clearing CPC centres, the inetructions contained In the 9-Circular NBG/S&P-SP/2/201 0-11, dated 1110112010 are to be meticulouSlyfollowed .:

ESiC maintain their accourts with New Delhi Main Branch (NDMB) for cotlection ofContributions The contributions are collected by various branches across the countrythrough challan and remitted to NOMS for credit of ESIC accounts.2 ESIC recently launched "IT 5nablement Project" and has decided to make thecollection system onune. As 8 part of this development, ESIC will collect theircontributions through current accounts (Power Jyotl) opened at NOMB for this purpose.Initially this arrangement will be Implemented for collection through branches under NewDelhi. Bengal and Bangalore circles on a pilot basis.2 ESIC has opened five accounts for collection of funds. The fUnds CQn be credited toany of the following five accounts by the coll_cting branches.

The collecting branches have to capture the Chalian No. and Name of the depositorfor MIS purposes and return depositors copy of the challan with the journal number dulyfilled in signed and stamped.
