Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states: "No person in the United States shall, on theground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied thebenefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receivingFederal financial assistance." To The Student

This book has a list of terms and fifteen pages of pictures. The list identifies the fifteen careerclusters, and also gives an example of an occupation for each career cluster. The pictures represent thefifteen career clusters. One example of each cluster is presented on each page.

The purpose of this book is top you understand what is meant by careers and career cliister;.Your: tetacher will talk with you anut each career cluster. You will have an opportunity to askquestions, and do some research on some careers, t may help you make some decisions about yourfuture.

Perhaps ygi have already thought of what kindlof work you would want to do when you finishschool. This will be your career. Sometimes we have to think about what we want to do for a longtime before we make a final decision. We have to limit our ideas to a few, and explore these to help usmake final decisions. This book will help you explore some careers that you may be unfamiliar with,and maybe some will be of interest to you. Exploring various careers can help you discover your ownabilities, and what you would want to do. Maybe you would want to do something that will helpthepeople in your community. Now is the time' to find out about people who are doing what you wouldMice to do. You would want to know such information as the following.

a) what is the career

b) what training is required

c) what are some of the noponsiblities

d) how is the career going to help others

e) what are the qualifications

f) wham a person can eam

g) what subjects you can study in school to prepare for a career
