FAITH STEPS!

2013 has been a ‘preparation season’ for Bay City Church.

God has been preparing us to take some ‘faith leaps’ that would enable us as a local church to fully live out our call and purpose in Him.

‘The past must be a rudder to guide us not an anchor to hold us back. If we try to duplicate today what we experienced yesterday, we may find ourselves in a rut that robs us of maturity’.

BAY CITY CHURCH….Our call & purpose in being a Base Church!

Establishing a ‘footprint’ from which to preach the gospel & advance The Kingdom!

Equipping and releasing saints into works of service!

Effectively impact & resource communities in our city, our region, our nation…..and beyond!

A key requirement in being a base church is having our own facility and being able to use it in a manner that expresses our vision and values!

The present reality!

……..Our present use of the Anchor of Hope facility gives us limited scope to effectively express our purpose in the city.

Our time here has been a door that God has opened for a season and enabled us to consolidate, ready to be launched into something else more suitable. The AOH leadership has graciously given us a years use of their facility which comes to an end in June.

What we have been trusting God for since we left Linkside High School in November 2011.

……..A facility that enables us to establish a visible footprint in the city!

2 Prophetic words we have been holding fast to:

Andrew Purchase [2009 Cape Equip] – God is going to give us a building!

Chanelle Roussouw [2012] – We will have a facility of our own, it has our name on it…..God will set it up!

WHAT GOD HAS DONE!Doxa Deo [Port Elizabeth] have offered us the use of their facility , Cnr Kabega/Brymore Road.

Background:

Doxa Deo have outgrown the facility and relocated their Sunday meetings into the Framesby High School hall. Their admin centre & other functions are still established on the campus which they will continue to use Mon-Fri during office hours & some nights during the week. They envisage moving their admin centre into another location sometime into the future.

After discussions with Braam Botha [Doxa Deo Campus Pastor] BCC have accepted an offer to use the Campus as a base to reach our city with the Gospel.

Bay City will have full use of the auditorium on ‘free’ nights of the week [Wednesday nights and Sundays]. The building comes fully equipped with Children’s Church & kitchen facilities, sound & lighting system.

Our relocation to this part of the city is not dependant on the building alone but is a ‘strategic locality move’ into a base that facilitates us reaching the whole city with the Gospel!

The strategic location of the campus gives us visibility [being a city on a hill] providing us with an opportunity to fulfil more of the prophetic words released over Bay City Church.

Why we have confidence to relocate………God has said we must go!

Gods fingerprints are all over this strategic move…..Some pointers,

We didn’t look for it He made it happen. We were approached by Doxa Deo leadership and offered the facility.

As best as we can discern prophetic words point to this relocation.

ALL of Bay City Church leadership is unified in recognizing Gods hand in it & have committed to make the faith step!

We have asked God to confirm it through scripture. He spoke to us out of Philippians 4:15-19.

We have made ourselves accountable to trusted apostolic voices who have faith for our inheritance. Their counsel…..Go for it!

PRACTICAL ISSUES We will enter into a 3 year contractual agreement , renewable thereafter year

by year for a further 2 years. We have access to the facility on Wednesday nights & Friday through Sunday. Office space will be made available for Nick to use during the week. The sound & lighting equipment presently installed will remain which we have

full use thereof. We have full access to a kitchen facility. Chairs in the facility will remain which we have use of until Doxa Deo require

them. We have access to a mother’s feeding room & a toddlers room . We are

presently trying to secure space in the house on the property for Children’s Church.

We will erect an enclosed children’s play park. The interior of the auditorium will undergo décor and aesthetical changes that

express our vision & values. The sign boards erected can be used to express our branding.

LOOKING AHEAD!

Wed 5th & 12th June…..Life Groups will join together for a Q & A time relating to the relocation. This is an opportunity to have details clarified.

We will meet at the Brymore Campus on Sunday 16th June at 9:30am for a meeting. This gives us an opportunity to get a closer look at & a feel for the campus.

Take up an offering on Sunday on 16th June at our evening meeting. We are encouraged to sow into the facility fund to finance the aesthetical and décor refurbishment in the facility.

Establish w/e work parties on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Launch date in our new facility is planned for Sunday 14th July!

Proposed new weekly rhythm once we have relocated:

• Sunday corporate meeting: 9:30am• Midweek corporate prayer: Wednesdays 6pm with a meal provided afterwards.• Music team practice: Wednesdays @ 7:30pm.• Life Group meetings: Thursdays
