CHAMPIONSHIP MEET INFORMATION Location: Saanich Commonwealth Place Date and Time: Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Warm up starts at 8:00 – 8:30am Racing starts at 8:35am Entry Deadline: Wednesday February 19, 2020 Eligibility: 1) Swimmers with past and present competitive club
experience from Summer or Winter swim clubs enter in the Championship Meet.
2) The top 20 swimmers (20 Boys and 20 Girls) from each of
the preliminary meet will automatically advance to the Championship Meet – you do not have to enter them again. Please Note: These swimmers will be charged fees for both the preliminary and championship meets. Please let ISC know of any scratches.
Entry Fees: $12.00 per swimmer regardless of how many events they swim
$8.00 per relay team entry.
Warm Ups: 8:00-8:15am and 8:15-8:30am Coaches Meeting: 8:30am (prior to the start of the meet) Meet Entries: Meet entries are submitted via email to:

MEET ENTRY INFORMATION
Deadline: Entries to the Championship Meet must be received by: February 19, 2020 via email to [email protected]
Individual Events: 3 events per swimmer and a maximum of 3 relays.
(3rd event must be butterfly.) Relay Events: Relays must be submitted with entries, not on the day of the
Championship Meet. Entry Times: All individual entries must include an entry time. If you do not
have entry times for some swimmers, you may estimate a time to ensure they are properly seeded. ENTRIES SUBMITTED WITHOUT TIMES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Age: Swimmers age is effective January 1, 2020. Swimmers must be
from Grades 1-8 only Heat Sheets: Heat sheets will be available online at www.islandswimming.com
by February 20th. Warm up lanes will be assigned at this time. Hard copies will also be available on meet day for teachers/ coaches/sponsors only.
Results: Will be available as soon as possible following the meet. Results
will be posted at www.islandswimming.com
MEET RULES
1. Swimmers must swim in their respective age groups except relay swimmers who may swim up to complete a team. Swimmers age is effective January 1, 2020.
2. Swimmers must be entered with an entry time. Entry times are not required for the relay events.

3. Swimmers not sponsored by a school may swim unattached.
4. Medley relay order is back, breast, fly, free at the Championship Meet. Timers: Schools are asked to provide timers for the Championship Meet. Scoring: Individual events 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 (top 8 score)
Relays score double 18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2 Awards: Individual event placing 1-8 will receive ribbons. Relays placing 1-3 will receive ribbons.

Final Reminders

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET ENTRY CHECKLIST
View the Schedule of Events (pg. 3) and determine the RACES each swimmer will enter.
Return the Entry Grids for the Championship meet including:
Girl’s Events Boy’s Events Relays Scratches and Butterfly events for Preliminary qualifiers
Indicate the name and age of each swimmer. Enter times for each swimmer (for seeding). Entries without times will not be accepted.
Do not submit a cheque prior to the meet. We will invoice your school based on final numbers (including adjustments
for scratches and changes).
Please accurately fill out and return the “Qualifiers from Preliminaries” sheet to scratch qualifiers from the preliminaries, and to add Butterfly events.
